4 nights in Monte Carlo and happy with my stay at Novotel. It is reasonably priced for a 4 star hotel in Monte Carlo which is notoriously expensive to stay. The room was nice, nice pool area, indoor/outdoor breakfast area/ restaurant next to the pool, room size was ok, clean and modern. Princess Charlotte road is up the hill, not on the flat, but is near the train station. If you are flying to Monte Carlo you have to go via Nice and either get the train (a 15 min walk from the airport, you'll need gps maps to find it) or catch the Express shuttle bus L110 Nice airport to Monte Carlo (Euro22 one way, you pay as you get on the bus). The bus stop is in the No 1 coach bus stop right outside Nice T2. I caught the bus which had great scenic views.

Never have I seen such a lackadaisical attitude towards guests! It was as if we were staying at the hotel on charity. To start with, the room wasn’t ready at checkin time. After waiting 45 minutes to gain entry to the room to our utter disgust we found the toilet in the room dirty and unusable. When this was pointed out, we were told it was some grit deposit and not what we thought. So you’re in a room given a good 45 minutes late and you still can’t use the loo. My insistence made them send the cleaning lady twice and finally the toilet was cleaned. During my stay, I left a printed door hang that read “I’m out please clean my room” When I returned in the evening I find a note in the undone room saying we haven’t done your room as requested. Really??? The staff argued instead of apologising. And the maid- Ms Laila had the audacity to yell at me as she was asked to clean after her duty hours. As it is the cleaning staff in the hotel does a very shoddy job. The intercom phone was filthy and to seek their attention I had to use it a lot. The day we checked out we requested for an hour extension as our taxi was coming at 1PM. However we were told 12 noon means 12 noon. So this hotel can give you a late checkin but at check out they have rules that can’t be modified. We have stayed at Novotel hotels many times in different cities, the service at this particular one was the worst ever. It needs to read the hospitality books all over again.

As per email, we apologize for the delay we had in giving you the room to that our general housekeeper made a reminder to her team of the procedures to follow for optimal cleaning of the rooms. For the rest, I thank you for not changing the reality. The toilets were dirty but dirty, because there were traces of cleaning product and the housekeeper apologized herself, because indeed this should not happen. For the sign you posted, it was not make the room, but do not disturb that you put, on the rooms do not disturb, a word is left so that our customer can call us to make the room! Regarding Leila, she is one of our nicest and most professional chambermaids, it is impossible that she yelled at you as it is impossible that she argued with another chambermaid. Also, I'm quite surprised that you find their work to be of poor quality given the amount of positive feedback I receive via email and other sites. Regarding what was said to you by the reception, I am sorry, because I agree with you, it is not normal and to this our reception manager has made a reminder about the language to have with the customer. The hotel was amazing and unthinkable that it was 3 Star. The services and pool were closer tl 5 Star. The only downside was that we were suprised that were trying to sell us things like room upgrade. The food and pool were aldo great. Would recommend if visiting Monte-Carlo

I came here on my honeymoon with my wife. We arrived Wednesday night to find out the water was shut off for the night since there was a water shortage in Monte Carlo. We were very disappointed and felt gross since we flew in and couldn’t shower. We expressed our concern to Doriane at the front who did not care. She is unprofessional and the taller African American manager on duty was unprofessional as well. He was not helpful and they stay talking to each other. Tatia was the best one who understood our concern and very professional Back to the room. It had spiders in the room. There was also bugs that fly in when you leave the door open. It is dated and let’s just say the AC controller unit does not have an electronic read. The manager of this hotel Guilaume Rapin does not respond to my emails about making this situation right. Not worth visiting for staying in Monaco. You want luxury and unfortunately this one is not it. 3 star hotel is generous. I think a hostel is better. What hotel shuts off the water?

The location is as good as you'd expect in a town like Monte Carlo - you've never far away. They have off-site parking that is charged per access. Park the car and leave it - you can do everything else by foot. There is a drop off point out front to empty the car (only room for about 3 cars) on a busy road. The check-in process was smooth, friendly and helpful. The rooms are immaculate and well appointed. The room was quiet and the bed comfortable - important things. Breakfast was included and the staff went out of their way to help my wife with her gluten free requirements. All staff were friendly and welcoming. Check-out was simple and easy. Would stay there again.
