Was not clean at all. Not followed covid 19 restriction. Pillows was extremely hard to even sleep on. When I had mentioned this upon checking out they just ignored my comment. The room was dirty. The bath tub was smelly.

Very supportive and understanding in the booking phase. They were kind enough to give us the end (slightly larger) room for our family. Pool attendants (life guards) were incredibly helpful and kind to our kids. Unfortunately the service in the main restaurant, room service and poolside bar/restaurant was disappointing. No cutlery for 30min after room service delivered; breakfast (although included) was very limited in choice and amount. No condiments provided, even on request. Poolside restaurant staff were unaware of deals and promotions being offered at the time. Service was very slow and we had to go searching for staff almost every time. Food was rather disappointing too.

It was a very nice trip to visit Al Ain area. The location of the Hotel and it’s services were just perfect for us. Although it would have been complete without the restrictions to use the amenities on the mountain side.

I arranged for 4 families to start 2 nights at the hotel. Rooms fine, cleanliess fine, however F&B a complete disaster. Breakfast team was understaffed and could not cope with the number of guests. The evening dinner by the pool was a complete disaster, both nights. Understaffed by 400%, hence, service unbearable. Example. I ordered wine. It took 50min to arrive. Once delivered, he does not open. Eventually once opened he did not bring glasses. The waiters were doing there best however they could not cope. This occurred both nights and spoiled our my stay, as I was under pressure to feed the group, with many kids etc. Really unacceptable for a hotel group like yours. As I said, for the first time in a long while I was glad to go home to Abu Dhabi.

Stay was good. Staffs/ security was arrogant We were sitting near pool after 7pm, they came to us and arrogantly said you cant sit here... We felt so bad as some other people were sitting near to pool, he didnt say anything to them.. We asked for some wine opener, some people are not even considering our request. Balance all good.. we enjoyed the stay.

The hotel has been recommended by friends who stayed here before. It’s a beautiful location with lovely facilities. The majority of staff ban been very professional, helpful and extremely friendly and welcoming while a few others have been rather harsh and unfriendly. It would have been nice to know in advance that the slides were not working, the kids were looking forward to it. The breakfast buffet was a bit understaffed but the available staff had been very friendly, patient and caring. Without the corona restrictions I think it would be better but we definitely enjoyed our stay.

Great location, room was old and tired and not worth the money

The restaurant food was poor, the breakfast overrun with very poor service. The rooms were old and tired with stained shower curtains and bath enamel. The price was the same as any five star hotel in Abu Dhabi or Dubai. The attraction is the location which makes this hotel popular, however the location and possibly the very good pool area is what the customer is paying for. The rest is overpriced for the quality and service available.

I'm afraid I we are not satisfied with our stay My wife and I, together with a another couple our friend, checked in on Friday 16/10, well past the 3pm check-in time and the problems started straight away. Our friends were given a smoking room they didn't want nor requested. It smelled so bad, they had to change be moved. My wife and I had booked a double but they gave us a twin. The receptionist tried to change it but with no luck due to the hotel being fully booked. They offered to join the beds but all they could do was to push the 2 single beds together. With nothing holding them, rolling towards the middle meant pushing the beds apart and risking falling off. As you can imagine, this was less than ideal The room has clearly not been refurbished for a long time and shows its age. Everything looks past its prime, cabinets don't close properly, furniture are stained and battered. A bit of a sad look. Things only got worse when it came to dealing with the f&b. We had our first dinner on the terrace by the pool which was lovely and had a great view. The service was not as good, unfortunately. We had to ask multiple times to be seated and again to have someone take our order. On the other hand, the food arrived quickly and was quite nice. Again, long wait for the bill. The morning after, we went for breakfast which is served between 7:30 and 10:30. the four of us decided to go for 9:30 but, to our surprise we were asked to wait because the restaurant was full. The restaurant is quite small and probably running at a reduced capacity due to covid and the hotel was full the previous night. That's understandable but showing up and just being told to wait is not the best way to handle the situation in my opinion. We would have appreciated some sort of booking system, or maybe an allocated time slot. Even just a heads up from the reception to know what to expect. Anyway we had to sit in the lobby with a number of other guests sharing our fate. After about half an hour we were let in and sort of abandoned at our table. Nobody came to take our drinks order or to explain the buffet. We asked a number of waiters to order drinks and finally managed to. All this meant we were quickly approaching the end of service so the already limited choice was further reduced. The cooked breakfast was OK but the bread and pastries were stale though. It must be said, the hotel benefits from a very fortunate location, the pool area is nice and of good size, it offers a beautiful view of the surroundings. Again, the outdoor area could use a refurbishment but it provides a very pleasant place to spend the day. Unfortunately the hotel had one last surprise put aside for us. On our last dinner, we decided to try the Belvedere. We walked into the restaurant to an almost empty room. Just a few tables were occupied and the empty ones were not even set up. Not a single waiter in sight. We waited there for a while for someone to show up but then decided to go to the front desk and ask if the restaurant was maybe closing down although it was just past 7:30pm. We were told that the restaurant was in fact open and, a after a quick phone call, a member of the waiting team appeared. We finally ordered and after a longish wait, we received our food. My wife's salad and main course were OK. My chicken biryani most definitely not. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect this dish to be freshly prepared in the restaurant of a four star hotel, instead I was presented with something that looked like a ready made meal, straight out of the freezer, just heated up in the microwave and not even properly. The chicken pieces were still half frozen and watery. I informed the unfazed waitress who took it back to fix it, I guess. In the meanwhile my wife had finished her main. We kept on waiting but after a while we got fed up and left. All things considered, I am honestly surprised that a Mercure can be run so poorly. The staff is generally kind and friendly but many members of the team looked like on their first day in a job they had never done before and that nobody had explained to them. Even more so in the f&b department. I'm inclined to think that the staff didn't receive proper training and guidance from the management. I feel this is a shame because the hotel could be a wonderful place to stay, given its unique location and view.
