Old hotel - the whole hotel is freezing cold. The room was very very cold when I checked in. the heating system did not work. Was given some rubbish at reception about the whole hotel being on climate control, to be eco and green....which was complete nonsense, as all the heating was just turned off. Then I was given a 20 year old fan heater for the room... I had to use the extra duvet from the bunk bed and all the pillows tucked in around me to keep warm during the day and at night. The hotel is very very old, and in need of a good clean, in fact the hotel is in need of a complete refurb, the toilet was constantly running. loo roll holder fell off, sheets and towel are grubby. I had to pay an extra £20 to check in at 13.00 ! Think very carefully when booking this hotel, for just a little more you can stay somewhere closer to the city center and have a warm room. My son paid £140 for 1 night ( 12 12.2024) crazy.

Very basic hotel room in a pretty good location. Room definitely needs a bit of doing up and the lights were flickering at all hours! However everyone we interacted with at reception was extremely helpful and friendly so they bring the review up a lot :)

Unfortunately my father was taken into hospital yesterday. Four months ago I had booked to stay at hotel for two nights as I was planning to see Paul Heaton concert on 1/12/24. I phoned the organisation booking.com. Who I had booked with and they were very understanding and said they would advise hotel that given circumstances a refund (never asked for) or some partial agreement would be suggested to hotel. When I phoned the hotel the manager refused to speak to me and said whatever circumstances there would be no consideration of my circumstances. What made situation worse was they put the person on reception (who was lovely) in the position to tell me this despite repeated requests to speak to manager. I have never posted on trip advisor but this refusal to acknowledge that people do have genuine emergencies and the refusal to defend their decisions appals me. I won’t say don’t stay here but leave you to make up your minds. Also emailed the hotel as they requested. No reply.

To start with the room was so cold we had to sleep with hoodies on and use a bathtowel ontop of the duvet to keep warm (the heating system blows cold air out even if its turned up full!! We felt like we was camping in winter! The room looks like a hospital ward and no plugs next to beds The bathroom has no lock theres 2 peep holes on the hotel door for some reason 🤔 We wont be back... would rather go camping 🤣

Good experience. Clean rooms, shower is well sized, location is good and parking is free. Staff friendly on arrival. Good, budget friendly hotel for a night or two. Only downside was that the pillows and beds weren’t the most comfortable but it wasn’t the end of the world
