Despite the restrictions of being in Tier 4 there was friendly reception. Good food delivered to the room, very clean and extremely well organised.

Room was freezing cold on arrival. No heating on and took hours to warm up. Television not working. Reported to reception and was told they knew about fault and was trying to fix. Stayed off for whole duration of stay. Not good.

We normally stay here for a few days three or four times a year when visiting relatives. The staff are always friendly and efficient, the rooms adequate in line with the hotel brand. The hotel is five minutes from the railway station and about five from the town centre and has adequate free parking off Cecil Street. There are bars and restaurants within easy reach and, normally, the hotel has a good breakfast buffet. On this occasion we did not book breakfast as we were not sure what would be offered on Grab and Go, it transpired it could have been eithe cooked or cold and could be ordered from a menu sheet.

The hotel was clean and well maintained with no issues whilst the staff are friendly and happy to help. Have stayed three or four times over recent months whilst in Carlisle with work and have another stay booked.

Hotel centrally located with free parking and very pleasant staff. A is typical for IBIS the bed was comfortable and the room amenities good. The only let down on this visit was the breakfast, served in a box (which I knew about) and frankly was meagre, the bread I asked for was dry and there were no cereal available.

Hotel lovely and clean. When I returned home. I have been charged twice for our stay!! Once on arrival with chip and pin! Then again the day after a member off staff has manually charged my card! Not happy!! I had booked again for January but have now cancelled! I read reviews on trip advisor and a few other people are stating the same!

I have look into the double charge and you are absolutely right, please accept our sincere apologies, this has been a genuine staff mistake. On your arrival your chipped and pinned payment was posted to the wrong room, then on the day of your departure the staff member on duty took a second payment off the card provided as your bill was showing as still to be settled, due to the reason above. I have now rectified this error and reconciled the correct payments to their respective rooms, and issued your refund of £114 today, this should be with you in a few working days. Please note that this was a one-off error and is not usual practice in this business, I sincerely apologise for it and would like to thank you for bring it to our attention. This will be shared with the staff to prevent its future occurrence. We are glad that you found the hotel location suitable for your needs and for your cleanliness comments, this will be passed onto our housekeeping team. Stayed overnight on Saturday 31st Oct. Sat in bar for a nightcap with my husband. We had two glasses of wine each. As I had forgotten my phonecharger the nice young man on reception said I could leave it charging on the hotel charger. At 9pm my 76 year old husband decided to turn in for the evening. I went to collect my phone and was barked at by a female member of staff who demanded payment before I could have my phone, this being overheard by a couple we had been chatting to was extremely embarrassing. Somewhat bewildered I asked if I was being charged for charging it. She replied very sarcastically that yes I was. Having stayed in Accor hotels many times I asked that the bill be added to my room. Said employee refused this. As I had no cash card on my person I had to return to my room and fetch my card. I have never been so embarassed in a hotel in my life. This woman is no asset to the hospitality trade. She is the worst advert for a hotel that I have ever come across. After paying I went back to my room. At 10.30pm we were disturbed by guests from other rooms singing sectarian songs. As there was no phone in the room, I ended up having to brave the corridor myself to ask them to stop. These guests were from the rooms from either side and the one across the corridor. I can honestly say that I have never had an experience like this in any hotel in any country. I will never set foot in this one again. As I have an online membership with Accor hotels I intend to take this further.

With regards to the noise, again I am sorry you were disturbed by other guest, but please rest assured that we are here 24 hours on reception and can be reached by either coming to the desk, by the Whats App number provided in the room or calling from your mobile to the hotel main line. If you give us a chance to earn back your trust, I can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of. Everyone is always welcoming and very helpful. Offering to bring food to the room is really kind after a day at work and carrying bags it is obvious that the staff are there to help make the change of on going situation as easy as possible for their guests. If I needed extra top ups for my room there was no problem getting them when requested. Check out is simple.
