Worst Ibis experience ever. Accor should go and audit.

The worst Ibis experience ever - Avoid at all cost! First, be careful not to mix these Ibis with the ones in the center. These Ibis and Ibis Budget are in a remote area, an industrial area with shops like Ikea etc... not in Bilbao. Staying currently there. Staff is extremely rude (I have never seen a hotel desk staff that don't speak English...). Wr complained because the room was very cold and they said it's still in Summer mode (10th october....) and that they don't know when the Winter mode begins. The breakfast is very limited and they charge for the coffee if not instant coffee. Really disappointing for a Ibis hotel. Accord should remove their licence.

Pros. - trendy and colourful lobby - superb service team - spacious room as IBIS chain - great breakfast with hot and cold food, the tortillas was the best - EV charge(60kw) on site, which is excellent for travelling cross with EV Cons. - again the coffee machine doesn’t make the great coffee

I stayed in IBIS BATAKALDO on 22 March 2025. I previously stayed in many IBIS hotels throughout Europe, always had good reports. But this time the price I had to pay was €135 (€120 SINGLE +€15 for my dog) - EXHORBITANT for a one star hotel !! Food was dreadful. Wasnt even possible to get a plate of french fries - Only Pizza available. I also asked for directions as I was driving from Malaga area. I was given exact street dress, BUT NOT AUTOROUTE EXIT. It meant my Google maps took me through the streets, which made it very difficult to find the hotel.

Good location for the Ferry!!

Second time staying here - ready for the ferry back to UK. Basic accommodation but clean - no tea/coffee making facilities so good job I had the travel kettle with me for the morning cup of tea. Free parking and fuel station next door to fill up the tank before the final leg of journey! Staff friendly / bar area ok and light meals / snacks offered. There is a shopping mall within walking distance and also a games centre that has food outlets if you don’t fancy the hotel menu. Good location for the ferry - 5 to 10 mins in the car straight down the motorway (when you work out how to get on it !! - bit confusing).

We have stayed here a few times on way back to Wales and every time we found great service. Hotel always smells nice and is clean. It is a cheap hotel which punches above its weight for value. 1 criticism is that the food os terrible. Guy told us that all food is microwaved. Not a big deal as there a food court 3 mins away amd plenty of restaurants around. Great location to explore surrounding area.
