Not the greatest Ibis

Not much point reviewing an Ibis because they're all pretty much identical but three things stood out here, none of them good. 1) General: This one's toward the end of its renewal cycle, lacking the freshness that Ibis often manage. 2) Location: one of the very few places in the city that's more than ten minutes from public transport. 3) Service: One of the towels in my room was suspiciously damp. Oh and maybe avoid telling guests that breakfast is not included on their reservation when it is. So would I stay there again? No. What if it was a third of the price of something similar near the Rambla? Oh OK then.

Stayed for 4 nights for our first trip to Barcelona and found the Reception staff super helpful in assisting us with our adaptor request. Was assigned room in the 11th floor with beautiful city view of Barcelona. The location is just right; outside the bustling city center but just with the right amount of crowds and shops nearby. It is also easily accessible via Fabra i Puig train station. The room itself has got everything you need for long-stay (considering 4 nights are quiet long for a destination), with a nice touch of good quality bathrobe and slippers. There is plenty of storage space as well as plugs. We highly recommend this accommodation.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Perhaps the best IBIS I have stayed at. I chose this hotel as the same quality hotel in the tourist zone would have been 25-50% more expensive. Instead you can easily travel in via the local Fabra i Puig metro station. The room was a nice size, clean and the reception staff were friendly and helpful. I have taken one star off for the breakfast! The one time I had breakfast there, the fresh fruit was not so fresh and there was a long wait on eggs! I recommend going to a local cafe for breakfast.

Very unpleasant experience

The experience that my relatives from New Jersey (USA) had in this hotel was regrettable. During their absence from the room on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, $600 was stolen from the room from a wallet deposited on one of the shelves in the room (the rooms do not have a safe). That same day, we went to the Police station in Barcelona to write the corresponding complaint. The worst thing about the case is the arrogant, rude, and absolutely despicable attitude of the supposed person in charge of the hotel who did not even have the slightest empathy with his clients, nor did he apologize on behalf of the hotel, nor did he lift nothing to find out. what had happened and that he even insinuated that the complaint was false to try to obtain some compensation Each one to do what they consider appropriate but this hotel is not, at all, recommended. A complaint has also been filed with the Ministry of Industry and Consumer Affairs of the Generalitat of Catalonia and a request/complaint has been issued to the management of the Accor chain itself.
