Not the best Novotel

The hotel was busy and it felt a bit claustrophobic at the very slow checkin. We arrived not too late but I think we got the final space in the car park (more of that later). It was not the fault of the receptionist that checkin was slow, and she was very pleasant despite there being no help from colleagues with the queue. The lifts were regularly busy and the corridors noisy. The AC did not really work and was noisy in its efforts to do nothing. The underground parking is hard to access if you have a long car and ours scraped the floor going in and out. I think this knocked out an indicator bulb that had to be fixed.

I have been many types of hotels and this is not my first time in Turin. The staff here doesn't treat well the guest when you think this is 4 starts hotel. We suppose to get better service from staff. Firstly, the day I arrived, the guy asked me for a reservation name, I had showed him my reservation with my name on it and instead, he still asked 'Do you remember your name?' which is very rude the way he asked. Second day, I asked the staff if it would rain in that day (For sure, I could have checked myself) But the staff didn't care to check anything while other hotels i stayed, they would be in pleasure to help and check in for the convenience. Lastly, the room service is gennerally closed at midnight (it's written on the website) I called to order and it was 11:30 pm. They said the kitchen is closed and no more room service.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL IF YOU ARE A SOLO FEMALE TRAVELLER. The neighbourhood is not safe: there are prostitutes, police, guys on loud motorbikes using roads as racing circuit on the short walk to the public transport. During the day it was OK, but at night is was definitely NOT safe. In the hotel: Noisy and ineffective air con that spits out dust and dirt, broken wifi, loud music by pool as of 7.30am ( although the pool opens at 10.30). My room was not serviced despite leaving the door tag requesting it to be so. The restaurant was buffet only, EU25, which was super expensive if you're only a little hungry. The staff were friendly but appeared to be under stress, so the vibe wasn't great either. Avoid at all cost.

Would only cost again if rooms had been refurbished

Not as good as we had hoped for. Arrived to be told that the restaurant was only serving a buffet dinner. Unfortunately this was very limited and not replenished. Restaurant staff were lovely but not enough staff to cope with how busy the hotel was This is obviously an older hotel and it shows in the rooms. Air Con struggled and in 30 degree heat this lead to an uncomfortable night.

The hotel was a big disappointment. Worn out furniture, dirtiness in most of the places, very distant staff. Besides all these the location is very unsafe, our car was vandalized in 5 minutes at 8pm just outside the front door as we were checking in ( broken windows) and stolen personal belongings. During the same night 5 more vehicles were also vandalized. Unsafe and dangerous neighborhood.
