An amazing location; beautiful building, but….the rooms seem tired. The rooms are large but fawcets did not close properly in the shower and in the toilet. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The entrance door of the hotel was broken and had to be opened manually. Check in was slow and a bit unfriendly. No smiles or kind words. Breakfast was disappointing. Breads were chewy and tasteless and the cheese selection was poor and limited. Scrambled eggs were dry and without much taste. On the positive side, diner was great and in particular the waiter ,Vilson, extended a fantastic service at the restaurant.

Had I seen pictures like these would never have booked. Bathroom is dirty and gross with mold, light bulbs missing, mirror falling and rusted, courtains and pillows disgusting. We changed rooms but not a lot better. The hallway carpet has never been vacuumed, terribly dirty, not to mention room service trays left with food uncovered overnight. They had us sign a waiver at check in for safe but the safe was missing in both rooms. Experience was not compatible with any other Novotel we’ve stayed at before.

Average accommodation and poor service

The reception and room service staff provided good service. However, the experience in the hotel restaurant was poor. We had previously booked a meal at the hotel restaurant and chose to enjoy it after check-in, the restaurant staff did not have this information and did not know how to conduct the service. The service was poor, the main course took a long time, the salad came without sauce, the dessert which was a mousse was frozen and the staff were impolite. In addition, the entire building smelled strongly of frying during the first day and, if I am mistaken, the benefits of my Gold ALL status were not fully available.

Very convenient hotel for somebody who arrives at the airport and have to travel to the West border or to the northern towns out of Porto Alegre. Good breakfast with several options of fruits and breads, The only negative point was that they allow the guests to have online meetings at the dining room during breakfast. I am really not interested to take part at somebody else meeting at the beginning of the day, and neither to have my breakfast time be disturbed by somebody else talking loud at his/her laptop.

Poor Overall Maintenance

Breakfast buffet is okay. Room comfort is below average (noise, blinders, bathroom). Maintenance is very poor (as an example, there was no cold water in the morning during my last stay and hot water was extremely hot, thus preventing from taking a shower). Front desk with just one person to handle both room calls (asking for explanation on the cold water issue) and check-out.
