Great hotel. The bar /restaurant staff in particular were lovely. Room was large and very clean, the whole place looked like it had been recently refurbished. The water stations on each floor with the bottles in the room were a nice touch. Downsides - the pool was freezing, and you were only allowed to take one very small towel. Sauna was out of order. Changing rooms & shower had no privacy and didn't look clean. Location wise - it was a lot further away from Wenceslas Square than we had thought given the name of the hotel but it was an easy trip into the main areas on the tram from IP Pavlova.

We visit Novotel hotel on december. First the crew in hotel was very helpfull and kind, there was nothing they can't do for guest, everything I asked was done and explain. Registration was very fast. Room was clean, but one minus, it was old room ( need to refresh ), it was on 4 floor. Thank all crew for kind and help.

Check in nice and easy. Lifts always quick. Room was standard novotel, with a nice colourful comfy sofa. Bathroom was big with separate toilet which is helpful. Bath was rather tall which even for us could be troublesome to get into. Shower would not stay straight but was fine. Ran out of shower gel on 3rd day but chose not to get housekeepers. Plenty of hanging space but no drawers which we always find annoying. Plenty of tea and coffee. Comfy bed but those weird square and small pillows are never as good as our memory foam at home. Breakfast was excellent. Plenty of choice of cold and hot inc egg station, waffle and pancake makers. Plenty of seating too even at peak times. Able to leave luggage before our evening flight. 5min walk for metro and tram that take you to centre of the old town

We have been regular visitors to Novotel Hotels across Europe and generally find them quirky, friendly and good quality and as in this case arranged via British Airways Holidays. The Prague Wenceslas Square Novotel is none of that. Located a good 10 minute walk from the Square of the same name, and the return is a longer up hill. 25 minutes walk to the old town. But the hotel is located near to the metro C red line. The hotel fixed taxi fares can be beaten by Uber/Bolt. A 9.30pm arrival after a long trip was underwhelming when we were greeted at the 24H reception by a “back in 10 minutes sign”. We didn’t wait that long but the semi friendly receptionist was about as welcoming as the sign. We ensured to ask about the included breakfast as we certainly was not receiving any information. Up to the fourth floor standard room. This was not the quality Novotel we were used to. The positives was the bed was large and comfy and the curtains were good black out curtains. Also good quality toilet roll! But the room was in poor condition, large burn marks in the carpet which was also stained. Furniture was heavily marked, clearly old and very well used, and the top of the wardrobe was coming apart. I noticed water leak staining to the ceiling tiles. The air conditioning was barely working for heat or cool. Our view from the room was of a shabby court yard and offices. The shower head was over bath, took some work to get it to direct water correctly. Only hand wash, shampoo and shower gel available, very basic amenities. Sustainably has gone over the top here when maybe the green cut backs have not reflected in the room condition. A warm fridge (I am guessing not working) provided an empty location to store drinks, but no other amenities. No charging points to one side of the bed and had to use the poor conditioned desk. Water could be provided in the provided carafe from a water machine located by the lifts. Off to breakfast, chaotic. In summary, staff appeared miserable, sometimes rude, maybe overall short staffed with regular missing plates, bowls and food items. The entrance to the breakfast area on the first day was not friendly after a 5 minute wait, the remaining two mornings we was not greeted at all, no staff, and we walked straight in. Breakfast was from 0630-1030 and we arrived at around 0930 each morning. It was busy as expected but not managed. The bonus was we could use the bar area to dine. On the last morning, we met the only friendly and helpful male staff member who replenished the milk when needed. Maybe the staff do not like respectful British couples? We did not feel interested to use the bar, or restaurant or swimming pool at this Novotel as we did with others. The check in experience, room condition and poor breakfast service put us off experiencing any other service. We would not recommend this hotel for a Prague visit and would not stay here again. Our experience in other Novotel Hotels across Europe far exceeds the standards here, reducing the official 4 star mark to 3 in our opinion. However Prague is beautiful in December and the city itself is a must visit.

Myself and my wife went to Prague for her birthday! From the start the staff were friendly and very accommodating, I’d like to personally thank Barbara fagan she was excellent in assisting with something a little extra for my wife’s birthday! The hotel is clean, the breakfast has an excellent variety to choose from there’s something for everyone. The bar is relaxed and the restaurant was great! The location of the hotel is perfect it’s about a 10-15 minute walk to most of the main attractions keeping the prices low in the local shops and ensuring a good night’s sleep as it’s not too busy during the night. Ignore any negative reviews, the experience we had was 10/10 - thanks team!
