Horrible mattress

The mattress is terrible. Kind of like sleeping on the floor, but with springs and a bar in the middle. The bathroom had a tub, but different colors of mold growing in the caulk and joints. Decent sized room for France, but layout could be better ( and without the bunk bed). But really the mattress is terrible ( this is after asking if another room had a nicer bed and being told that pillow tops were only in 3 star hotels). Spend an extra $10 to get a nicer place and not toss and turn awake for hours.

This is a basic budget hotel with helpful pleasant staff. The beds were comfy and clean, bathrooms basic, but perfectly acceptable. Short walk to restaurants and an 18 minute walk to the ferry. All in all you get what you pay for and this little hotel is fine.

Trapped in Lift

On receiving our room cards for floor 3 we got into the lift it started then an almighty jolt and the lift got stuck mid floor there was four adults in the lift one of which has a heart condition we were trapped for forty five minutes with no communication from reception on our welfare. A lift engineer took 20 minutes to get to the hotel to get us out and all we got was four cartons of water no apology until I asked. This has now made me afraid to go into lifts.

I am seriously disappointed in this from booking.com total misrepresentation of the hotel it was advertised in a busy port location where parking preferably secure is important. When we arrived we were told could park where we liked in the street the hotel had no parking to offer! This has meant us emptying the car for security and having added stress at a very poor check in in a very basic hotel where we paid well above todays advertised rate to secure the booking. Not good value and completely unapologetic about offering parking that they don’t have.
