Tired, but as expected, given the rate we paid. Good to have an opening window, and great to have a walk-in shower, why do most hotels persist in the old shower-over-bath? Maybe some people still like to sit in dirty water for hours, but hotels could offer one or two rooms with bath? Anyway, our bathroom had the essential Viagra dispenser (sadly, the box was empty 😂). We weren’t tempted by the breakfast. For some reason, you have to register your car to avoid a hefty fine (I presume, as there are no regs displayed anywhere…) - no idea why the car park, which presumably the hotel owns, has this requirement.

I’ve stayed here previously and read recent reviews and all I will say is “you get what you pay for” and even occasionally a pleasant surprise. Payed less than other budget hotels and only complaint was quality of pillows and only two per room, although I probably would have been given more had I asked. Room 302 had no defects, was spotlessly clean, and showing no great signs of wear and tear. Check in was pleasant. Have not been charged for car parking. Cannot comment in food as we didn’t eat any (late arrival and I don’t really do breakfast) AND yes I would stay again

Old , tired ,run down, neglected by management. Should be revamped or closed. Disappointing by Ibis Standards and damaging to the brand. Cracked tiles in the bathroom, worn and damaged furniture and no confidence to eat there as the kitchens will be the same.

I stayed at the ibis at Preston north which was an absolutely disgrace considering our company paid for it the evening meal menu was shambolic to say the least only pizzas on menu and the breakfast not starting until 6.30am when we had to be at work at 7 on top of that your receptionist/ waitress have a lot to be desired as regards dress there uniform was / is a utter disgrace and also always on mobile phone instead of helping customer make sure this is forwarded to your head office and something is done about it non smoking when somebody smoked in my room

I spent two nights at the Preston North Ibis; Friday and Saturday. I know the hotel is budget, but it should be clean, safe and be fit for purpose. The carpets are disgusting, dirty and smelly - you would be wise to keep something on your feet! The Friday night was reasonable and I had a decent sleep, but the Saturday was hell, noisy all night, dogs barking in corridors in the early hours, doors being slammed, cars coming and going, snoring neighbours and mobile phones beeping and vibrating in the next room - no hope of some well needed sleep. On the Saturday morning I booked the room for that night on the All Accor Live Limitless website and expected to be able to pay at the hotel when I headed out, I usually do at other Ibis Hotels...not this one, I had a nock on the door; I was getting ready so I shouted and asked who it was, it was a cleaner stating "Your supposed to be out by 12." I went to the door and spoke to her, I explained I had rebooked the room hours ago - she replied with "They've told me (reception) you haven't." She went away and came back with "They want you to pay now." Having stayed with Ibis many times over the past several years and being an All Accor Gold Member I was gob smacked by the attitude, so I rang reception to ask for clarification. I was told by a female member of staff "We need payment now as you may leave without paying or stay long after the checkout time then leave." Rude much? I explained that I'm an All Accor Live Limitless Gold Member which made absolutely no difference to her attitude or level of service, so the point of the membership and loyalty to the brand is? I offered to go and pay right away. The attitude continued today Sunday when I booked a different room type and went down to reception to pay and change rooms, having had such a poor nights sleep. I was dealt with by the same member of staff who stated "Because you are changing room type, you will have to leave the hotel and come back in three hours." Really, they want me to walk around the car park for three hours??? I asked why I couldn't transfer from the twin to a double there and then, the reply was "Saturday was busy, the hotel was full." At this point it was 12:20 pm and the cleaners had been cleaning since around 9:45 am, if not before; so they had been cleaning for hours and hadn't managed to clean one double room that I could have been moved to? Rubbish! I then asked to stay in the twin room I was in until a double was ready and I got told "No you cant it has to be cleaned." One of the benefits of being an All Accor Gold Member is a late checkout up to 5 pm, there was no reason to refuse this membership perk as it is Sunday and Sunday occupancy is low. She went on to say "I still have 43 departures." My response was "Really? The car park is nearly empty." There was about 7 cars in the car park (see photo). What had these guests done walked?! All this member of staff had to do was to make an effort and check with the housekeeping team what rooms had already been cleaned, take my payment and send me on my way to a double room - clearly this was too much effort on her part so I asked for my booking to be cancelled and went elsewhere.
