The Mercure Blackburn Dunkenhalgh Hotel & Spa is set inside a beautiful country manor house, the building retains many of its original features, including turrets and porticos. Set amongst the iconic Lancashire countryside with its own extensive landscaped grounds, the Dunkenhalgh Hotel is perfect for a relaxing break. The spa offers a full range of professional treatments, an impressive heated indoor pool (charges & children's swim times apply) and gym. The hotel was partially refurbished in 2020.

The countryside of the Blackburn area surrounds this hotel. Guests looking to unwind in tranquil natural surroundings can enjoy a visit to the outstandingly beautiful Trough of Bowland, which is located just 20 miles away from the hotel. This hotel boasts luxurious, traditional décor throughout, making it a great location for any wedding reception or special event. The banquet hall can accommodate up to 300 guests who can enjoy use of the hotel's excellent facilities during their visit.

Set in 17 acres of glorious parkland, this 4-star hotel is in a 700-year-old building with restored original features. A number of tourist attractions are in easy reach including the Trafford Centre, Chester Zoo and Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

Its old fashioned which brings that organic feeling to staying out of town. Being from Birmingham it was a refreshing stay that aired such brilliant hospitality. The few names are Amy Elizabeth at reception who’s warm personality made everything seamless and so easy to feel at home with her incredible reception the 2 lads at the bar jack and sean who were that good i forgot my friends were with me and ended up standing by the bar for 3 hours just chatting with them. Brilliant lads complimented by their brilliant manager Danielle who was there for us no matter what we needed. 10/10 recommend if you’re looking for a vintage experience with a touch of modernity from the best staff you could ask for, also the scenery is beautiful compared to where I’m from which was also refreshing. Honestly a great stay. Thank you to the Mercure team. You guys were great.

Myself and my mum have just come home from an amazing weekend here that I booked as her Mother’s Day gift. The hotel is beautiful. Very clean, room was spacious and the amenities were fantastic. The food here was very good. The bar was good and the spa was perfect for the relaxing weekend we was looking for. The staff at the hotel were friendly, helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. Will definitely be looking forward to returning at some point and will recommend to everyone.

Disappointed by the lack of basic amenities and value for money We were disappointed with our stay at Mercure Blackburn. When we wanted to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening, we found there were no light snacks available at the bar—no nuts, crisps, or anything similar—so we had to drive out to a local shop and bring snacks back to the hotel ourselves. In the morning, we went to use the pool but were told it would cost an extra £10, which we declined. We also opted for breakfast, which was £30 for two people. Unfortunately, it was self-service and several standard items were missing, including sausages and hash browns. It felt like we paid a full price for very little. The room itself was okay, but there were loose ceiling tiles, and there was no cold water coming from the tap. We had to buy a bottle of water from the bar for £4, as none was provided in the room. Overall, it didn’t feel like good value for money, and several basic expectations were not met.

I had an accessible room in the older part of the building. It was excellent with everything I needed. The only problem was that I couldn't turn off the bedside lights when I was in bed due to the huge bedhead. Everything else was fine. How ever, Nick Parry ,when replying to complaints in reviews, does a lot of apologising but not much action. One lady mentioned the lack of any seating in reception, he said this would be rectified but there is not even a chair in the reception area last weekend. The staff were excellent.
