The pros: There are only two reasons this room didn’t get a one star. It was cheaper than competitors and it is located near the city center. The cons The only way to describe this hotel would be underwhelming. The street all around the hotel is under construction which while not the hotels fault makes it difficult to get to by vehicle. The lobby doesn’t look bad but from then on the hotel is anything but stellar. The elevators are tiny and the key fobs are broken looking and taped back up. Upon reaching our floor the elevator started to open then glitched and closed and didn’t move. I had to rescan the key card to get out and it lurched after scanning. The hallways give one the impression “all those who enter here forgo all hope.” The room’s vibe could be described as insane asylum or prison like. The pillows all smelled like smoke in a clearly marked non smoking room. The temperature controls are broken. Finally the toilet has an issue of running nonstop after you flush. After speaking with staff we have come to understand it wasn’t an issue with the toilet but just that “you didn’t jiggle and set the handle right so it does not run and flush consistently.” If you are wondering the correct position is in the below photos. In every other place I’ve ever stayed that’s called an issue but here it’s just flavor.

Base for a regional business trip

Good hotel, a good location, centrally located, just outside the hustle and bustle of the centre's hectic business. Stayed 3 nights visiting my clients in various Scottish towns, usually by this hotel as a base. An adequate property with a good room, the level you expect from a Novotel.

Stayed here as part of a Globus tour- it was our last might and frankly was one of the worst hotels. Front entrance looked poor and the rooms were weird. Tiny TV. Very small commode, no AC ( only a fan). Our group also ate dinner rhere and the service was poor. They could not handle the two groups. When I got to the buffet only 1 of the 3 entrees were available. I waited a while then moved on to dessert. If they are going to take 2 groups then have the staff to handle it.

Really great experience - absolutely fantastic staff!

We decided to de-camp with all the family (wife + 3 daughters) and the two dogs this summer. Which meant staying in the UK, which meant Scotland. There aren't that many dog-friendly hotels in Glasgow, it turns out, but this one was great. The main thing I have to praise is the staff, who were uniformly fantastic and helpful, especially with our pooches not being fond of lifts. The hotel is reasonably close to the City centre if you're up for a brief (15 mins) stroll. Rooms were pretty standard Novotel - nothing great, but nothing awful. It wasn't the cheapest when we ate here; but my main recollection is the brilliance of the staff. Thank you for a great start to our holiday!

A lovely hotel, really helpful staff and a tidy room but the toilet smelled awful, like someone had peed all over it and it had never been cleaned. My friend and I stayed in this hotel on Saturday overnight and paid the privilege of £120 plus £8 parking but that included breakfast and a welcome drink on arrival...still very expensive for Glasgow considering how out of the way this hotel is. The staff are all lovely and very helpful and the room was nice but the toilet, which is separate from the bathroom, was disgusting. The smell made me sick every time I used it. It smelled so strongly of urine and it was actually difficult to squeeze into the toilet and shut the door, it was so restrictive and neither of us are big people. The toilets need scrubbed with bleach from top to bottom, or replaced. The lifts are also a nightmare, with an over sensitive touch keypad and only being able to accommodate 4 people at the most. It's not the worst hotel and with a couple improvements could be so much better. Not worth the money as is and better hotels in the City Centre
