Hotel Mercure Montpellier Centre Comédie 4 estrelas

We had a lovely experience staying here. The hotel was very clean, breakfast was good, decent selection of food and fresh. Staff was very friendly and courteous. One star loss for the lock not working in our room and not being fixed after our complaint.

The room I was given was in a very poor condition, not all equipment was working as expected, fx light, coffee machine . it was not possible to heat up the bathroom. the breakfast was limited and lacking food some days

Hotel is dirty and old , reception area looked like a slum , Carpet in common area is filthy , Room is dirty , Bathroom worst ( hair everywhere ) It stinks of chemical cleaner . The noise insulation is so bad I can listen to some " joker ' playing bad rap five stories below . The electric kettle does not work. No outlet by the bed . I just cannot believe they are advertising the hotel as a 4 stars . Staff is OK and nice but nothing they can do about the condition of this Trash. Shame , shame .

This definitely is not a 4* hotel. Our room smelled of smoke and the carpet was badly a stained. The bathroom had someone else’s hair all over it when we arrived and the tub was badly stained. The overall condition of the hotel is definitely not 4* quality with holes in the walls and stained carpets. They do provide a coffee maker in the room with a selection of quality teas but that does not make the hotel 4 star. Also as an All Accor elite member I was not even offered welcome drink. The staff seemed agitated by our arrival.

Area is poor with homeless people sleeping very close by. Room service and restaurant food was poor standard. Car park is very difficult to locate and small, a pass code is required each day to exit and enter the car park, if you leave before 8am in the morning, the pass code will have changed before you return. Front facing rooms, double glazing is non existent, deliveries would arrive at 4am three times a week and would wake you up without fail. Location to the centre of Montpellier is good but walking back late at night from the Comédie square can be a bit intimidating with all the homeless people. Wifi is good. Breakfast is very limited and the same each day without fail and staff are slow to clear tables, some mornings there was nowhere to sit although the breakfast room was almost empty. I cut short my stay and changed hotels. For one night only it would be ok to stay here but only if there was nowhere else available
