We weren’t expecting a lot from a country hotel but were pleasantly surprised with the Novotel. Gorgeous views, spacious rooms, that are surprisingly well layed out with plenty of storage and room for cases etc and also include a small kitchenette with wine glasses etc - essential for a Barossa trip. Beds were comfortable also. Pool area is lovely (and water heated) although didn’t have a great deal of time to use it given our itinerary. Would stay again if in the Barossa.

We stayed in a superior room for my sister's 70th. Check in was fine and friendly. We got to our superior room with a beautiful view across the valley. It was lovely - until we opened the door to our balcony! Smoke from the room next door was blowing straight into our balcony and then into our room. I was shocked - believing that the statement on their website and the Accor member website all stated it was smoke free or 100% smoke free. I rang reception immediately and asked what was going on. The person I spoke to said that guests are allowed to smoke on their own balconies as that isn't part of the room. I informed them I have asthma issues and queried if the balcony is not part of the cost of the room I paid for. He said that the superior room is what I paid for. Again I asked if that does not include the balocony. He didn't know how to reply and eventually said yes of course. And I asked him why it was advertised as a non-smoking hotel. He couldn't answer. I than said so even if you change rooms the people any where around our room are allowed to smoke? Flustered he said yes. I asked him what were they going to do? He said the manager would get back to me. Shortly after the manager rang and said they could put us in a spa room. I told him to read the email I had sent with my booking requesting a walk-in shower as I have had knee surgery. He said he would get back to me. He rang back later and said he had spoken with the guests next door and they said they would not smoke on their balcony. However they continued to smoke and everytime they were in their room and, consequently, we were unable to open our balcony door at all during our 3 night stay. Every time I saw that gentleman around the resort he was also smoking. Although the staff were very friendly, I would not stay there again and recommend anyone with asthma or breathing issues not to stay there either.

it was our second time staying, the last time being in the spring. What a fantastic location, amazing facilities including an outstanding pool and plenty of loungers as well for shade, friendly staff who know the region so can offer advice, and overall the perfect spot if you are in the Barossa. Thanks again Team for an outstanding stay.

Overlooking the wineries with views forever we stayed for two nights and could have easily stayed longer. This Novotel is fairly long, and soon we realised that the better the room, the closer you were to the reception and restaurant. We had a superior king room, one class of room higher than standard king room. As explained to me we had "less distance to walk", so if you are not keen on walking ask to be as close as possible to the reception. The food in the restaurant really was exceptional, we dined there both nights. Make sure you book as a lot come from surrounding areas being a very popular restaurant. Its one of those hotels that has a great feel about it.
