We booked for one night prior to a flight out of Zurich Airport. We just needed a quiet, clean hotel that was close to the airport. We read a review that there was a free shuttle, but that was not the case. We were three travelers - my husband and me, and my 82-year old mom. We needed a room for 3 people. We were provided with a handicapped room with a bed, a rollaway, and a desk/chair. There was one side table. There was nothing else in the room. There was no place to put clothes. The wall sockets near the bed did not work. The USB sockets near the bed did not work. The only electrical socket that worked was by the door to the hall. No clocks to tell what time it was, and when trying to arise early to catch a flight, you want to know what time it is. The bathroom looked like something from a hospital. No shower stall - just a curtain pulled across the ceiling to separate the water from hitting the toilet and the sink. There was someone's hair left on the piece of metal between the shower and the toilet. The bottom of the shower current was brown. The grout was peeling by the sink. It was not pleasant. I did not use the "shower" as it would get the entire bathroom floor drenched, and instead washed my hair in the bathroom sink.

Our front desk team is always available to address maintenance concerns like non-functioning sockets during stays. Regarding mobility needs, we offer nine accessible rooms and shuttle services available on request to facilitate airport transfers. Our housekeeping team has been reminded to double-check bathroom sanitation protocols, particularly in high-use areas. We hope to welcome you back for an improved stay in the future. The Ibis Messe Zurich Hotel feels more like a transit stopover than a full-service hotel. We chose it mainly because the prices were a bit lower than regular Zurich hotels. The rooms, however, are extremely compact—so much so that opening a suitcase comfortably can be a challenge. One surprising (and slightly amusing) discovery was the air conditioning—or rather, the lack of it. Despite vents in the room, the staff politely confirmed that they were only for air circulation, not cooling. Since it was warm in September, this made the stay less comfortable. Reception service was fine, nothing extraordinary. The real highlight was the breakfast spread: a good mix of fresh breads, cheeses, cereals, and coffee, which made for a satisfying start to the day. The hotel also has the advantage of a large parking area right in front of the property, which is convenient. Overall, it’s a budget-friendly option if you’re passing through, but not ideal if you’re expecting comfort and space.

We checked in late on June 26, 2025, for a one-night stay before an early morning flight. Upon entering our room, we noticed a spider web above the headboard, an unsafe wet floor in the bathroom and shower, scratches on the wall, and a non-functional USB port. Additionally, the parking space was small and there was a fee of CHF 20 per day. Since we arrived so late and needed to check in at the airport early, we didn’t request a new room. The reservation desk resembled a restaurant checkout counter.
