If you can, upgrade to the Privilege room. It is worth it for the space and the views overlooking the Place des Jacobins. Most of the time I avoid booking in a chain in favor for a boutique hotel for a more local feel but sometimes a chain is necessary for the comfort and reliability. The location is a good 10-15 mins walk to the old town but still centrally located to shops and cafes. We were also able to walk up the Fourviere (w/o the furniculaire). You can book a cab from the hotel but if you leave at normal hours, no need to pass through them there is a stand just across the street from the lobby or book through one of the apps. Service is helpful and relaxed. Breakfast area is a bit cramped but to us necessary cos the cafes seem to open a bit late. Have to note I feel that the housekeeper (at least the ons assigned to us) was not very thorough, which I find rather disappointing considering this is a chain with standards.

We recently visited this hotel as part of my mums 70th birthday celebrations. The hotel kindly decorated my mums room for her and ensured she had one of the nicest room. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel is a great position for exploring Lyon and fabulous restaurants a stones throw away. I would highly recommend this hotel to visitors of Lyon due to everything being within walking distance. Although the breakfast choice was small the bread were to die for and everything freshly made.

We have recently stayed at Mercure Beaux Arts. What a beautiful hotel! Located right in the center of the city in a gorgeous historical building close to everything. on arrival we had a handwritten card from the manager Camila welcoming us to the city and letting us know that few extra things were included in the cost of the room such as minibar, bathrobes and sleepers - what a beautiful touch. Room was clean, with lots of natural light, overlooking Place des Jacobins. Due to the gorgeous french double windows very quiet at night! Mercure also offers very good breakfast at a very reasonable price. Choice of the cheese and pastries are amazing. Thank you, all the team, in Mercure for making our stay very pleasant and letting us enjoy your wonderful city.

I spent three days traveling alone in Lyon and the staff at the hotel helped make it a memorable experience. The location on a beautiful square was exceptionally convenient and the room was impressively quiet. The room was spotless and having seen some of the smaller rooms I would recommend the room upgrade. Prior to my visit, I received an email with some useful information and the staff was able to help me secure a reservation in advance for a restaurant that I was very interested in. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

A very enjoyable stay in Lyon with my sweetheart Michelle. The hotel is in an excellent location in the heart of Lyon and convenient for the metro, tram and rail networks. The rooms are comfortable and quite well appointed. There is a small bar area and breakfast room. Although there is no restaurant as such, the hotel is close to many restaurants and bars that are within easy reach. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We would definitely stay again on any future trips to Lyon.
