There are no ideal hotel locations for a cultural visitor to Paris, as its highlights are spread out over a large area. However, the Mercure Sorbonne is well located on a quiet street in the Latin Quarter and close to that area’s many attractions and to the Ǐle de la Cité and Notre Dame. Our rooms and bathrooms were small, well designed and minimally equipped. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The main negative was the small basement breakfast room with insufficient seating and frequent outages of items in the rather ‘average’ buffet, despite the efforts of the overworked staff – at best, a three star experience. Small rooms and congested public spaces are typical of hotels in central Paris and the Mercure Sorbonne’s official four star rating and our marginal 4/5 should be noted in that context.

Hotel with excellent service and location. Room was good size and comfortable. Hotel team always helpful. Location is really a advantage, walking distance to many places like Notre Dame, Louvre and D’Orsay. Many shopping possibilities and restaurants.

Simply the best of the best! Newly redecorated, this hotel is very stylish, using top of the line materials and excellent taste. The most important, however, is the team serving you there. Professionals, yet, friendly and emblematic of “service first”. The breakfasts are delicious and also served quickly for warm morning coffees, teas and hot chocolate and where the buffet style accommodates those needing to be out and about early. Location must also be noted! 3 minutes from a famous museum, 7 minutes walk from the Luxembourg Garden, on the RER B line connecting CDG and ORLY Airports, plus several bus lines in all directions not to mention the Metro. Thanks to the whole team for such a fabulous stay last week!

Great hotel! The staff is fantastic, the breakfast is good, the location is great, and the price is reasonable. I would like to highlight Kenya, Maesli, Diogo and Ivone. They are very friendly and gave us great tips about Paris. The hotel is just a few steps from the Siena River and Notre Dame Cathedral.
