Dinner was disappointing

Experience : --Bathrooms and bar service good Stanadard. However I comment as follows ; On entering the Foyer there was a distinct pungent ordour / smell which I commented to the receptionists. The third floor the air felt stagnant. Other more serious concerns : Dinner -- the food was not in part properly cooked and it was cold. -- total unacceptable. The carpets look old and certainly need replacing. The levy it was excessive the previous week I stayed in Christchurch in a larger room and for about $100 less. I would not recommend to anyone to stay there and I will certainly will not. The writer is retired and has travelled regular here and overseas. Regards Paul

The check-in process went smoothly with great customer service at the front. Heading upstairs to my room on Level 4, I was pleasantly surprised by the river view and how far I could see. The room itself was spacious with nice amenities and a flowing layout. I ate in the restaurant for dinner and a buffet breakfast, and the food in both instances was really nice. While I was travelling for work, I would absolutely return for personal travel. Can recommend.

Booked last minute and was surprised to find this hotel to be in a great central location with a plentiful choice of restaurants close at hand. Room was spacious and clean. Great secure valet parking. The hotel was very peaceful with a nice relaxing bar area with all of the hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Would not hesitate in choosing this hotel again.
