Reggio Emilia to przepiękne miasto – urokliwe, spokojne, z dala od tłumów turystów. Oferuje bogactwo architektury, sztuki, kultury i oczywiście kuchni włoskiej. Niestety, sam hotel Mercure Reggio Emilia Centro Astoria zdecydowanie odstaje od tego pozytywnego obrazu i co najważniejsze – nie reprezentuje poziomu, jakiego można oczekiwać po marce Mercure i standardzie czterech gwiazdek. Hotel z wyglądu i atmosfery przypomina raczej obiekt budżetowy o standardzie dwóch gwiazdek. Recepcja była mało pomocna i niezbyt zainteresowana gościem – sprawiając wrażenie, że każda prośba to problem. Pokoje są mocno wyeksploatowane, urządzone w stylu przypominającym lata 80-te, z widocznymi oznakami zużycia i zaniedbania. Brak dbałości o estetykę oraz porządek powoduje nie tylko dyskomfort, ale wręcz wrażenie brudu i bałaganu, co wpływa negatywnie na ogólne samopoczucie podczas pobytu. Jedyny pozytywny akcent to przemiłe Panie z obsługi śniadań – życzliwe, uśmiechnięte i autentycznie zaangażowane w pomoc gościom. To one stanowiły jedyne światło w tym ogólnie ciemnym obrazie. Podsumowując – jeśli ktoś liczy na standard Mercure i czterogwiazdkowy komfort, lepiej poszukać innego miejsca. Ten hotel zdecydowanie wymaga gruntownego odświeżenia – zarówno wizualnego, jak i w zakresie podejścia do gości. Reggio Emilia is a beautiful town – charming, peaceful, and off the beaten tourist track. It offers a lot in terms of architecture, art, culture, and of course, Italian cuisine. Unfortunately, the Mercure Reggio Emilia Centro Astoria hotel falls short of this otherwise positive impression and, most importantly, does not reflect the expected quality of the Mercure brand or a four-star standard. The hotel looks and feels more like a budget two-star property. The reception staff were not very helpful and showed little interest in guest needs – it felt as if any request was an inconvenience. Rooms are very worn out, furnished in a style reminiscent of the 1980s, with visible signs of wear and neglect. There’s a clear lack of attention to cleanliness and aesthetics, which creates a sense of disorder, discomfort, and even uncleanliness. The only bright spot was the breakfast staff – kind, smiling, and genuinely eager to help. They were the only truly welcoming part of the entire stay. To sum up: if you're expecting Mercure quality and four-star comfort, it's best to look elsewhere. This hotel is in desperate need of renovation, both visually and in terms of guest service. Reggio Emilia è una città splendida – affascinante, tranquilla e lontana dai soliti percorsi turistici. Offre moltissimo in termini di architettura, arte, cultura e naturalmente cucina italiana. Purtroppo, l’hotel Mercure Reggio Emilia Centro Astoria non è all’altezza di questo contesto positivo e, cosa più importante, non rispecchia affatto gli standard attesi per un hotel Mercure a quattro stelle. L’aspetto e l’atmosfera dell’hotel ricordano piuttosto una struttura economica da due stelle, con una reception poco disponibile e disinteressata alle esigenze del cliente. Ogni richiesta sembrava quasi un disturbo. Le camere sono molto usurate, arredate in uno stile che ricorda gli anni ’80, con evidenti segni di degrado e incuria. La mancanza di attenzione all’estetica e alla pulizia generale crea una sensazione di disordine e sporcizia, che rende il soggiorno sgradevole e frustrante. L’unica nota positiva è rappresentata dallo staff della colazione: signore gentili, cordiali, sorridenti e realmente disponibili. Sono state loro a portare un po’ di calore umano in un ambiente altrimenti deludente. In sintesi: chi cerca l’esperienza Mercure e il comfort di un quattro stelle farebbe meglio a cercare un’altra struttura. Questo hotel ha urgente bisogno di una ristrutturazione completa, sia estetica che nel servizio al cliente.

Business trip to Reggio for a factory visit, ideally situated on the outskirts of town, with parking outside the hotel which was free (but very busy) Hotel itself was pleasant, some confusion with our booking as we booked with breakfast, but this didn’t come through on our booking. However the hotel honoured it and gave us our breakfast. Has a cozy little bar also, with a friendly waiter who does a nice Irish coffee with baileys. Only negative is that the beds were quite hard, not the most comfortable to sleep on. Appreciate this is a matter of personal preference so still think the hotel is good, just not quite perfect for me.

Very spacious, clean, comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfast. Very centrally located. The reception staff, restaurant and bar staff all extremely friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Martina for all her help. Would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

Welcoming and smiling staff. Good sized rooms. Very nice and clean both bathroom and room. Good bed and bed linen. Very quiet, so good sleep quality. Excellent location - in walking distance to most major sites. Minibus Linea M goes between the old railway station and the new High Speed Train Station Mediopadana. I travelled t/r the old station, but took the bus out to Mediopadana just to see it. Well worth.

Excellent hotel and excellent staff. Perfectly renovated rooms in perfect order with all amenities present. Nice views, good airconditioning, rain shower, bar. Stayed a week and was very pleasantly surprised. Great location too, at a park and near the very center of Reggio, a quaint and beautiful town. Would definitely return, also when traveling to Bologna, Modena or Parma. This town and the Mercure Astoria are highly recommended.
