This was not the first stay at the Pullman Khon Kaen, and I’m pretty sure it will not be the last either. Everything was just as expected and the reason we were back again. There was only one slight hiccup this visit, and the problem was, that when we arrived at our designated room, there was constant crying and screaming from 2 babies in the room next to us and to be honest, was unbearable. Of course, this is not the hotel’s fault and a call to reception was all it took and 10 minutes later we were in another room on another floor. But…… After being in this (new) room for ten minutes – it was obvious that the people in the next room had very little consideration for other guests and the constant slamming and banging of the doors in the room and raised voices was just un-necessary and unacceptable. At one point we even went out into the corridor to see what all the fuss and commotion was – and actually saw the guests in the next room enter into their room and BANG went the door as they slammed it closed behind them. Of course, this is not the hotel’s fault. However if a guest has already made a complaint about a noisy room next door, then perhaps it isn’t a wise idea to allocate them another adjoining room where the same issues might occur – and it seems quite obvious that these guests would like a bit of peace and quiet. When we called reception again to inform them of our noisy neighbours, we were told that it was not possible – as the room next to us was vacant, apparently! We explained that we had just stood in the corridor and watched with our own eyes – people going into the room and slamming the door behind them loudly. Again, we were assured that even after checking the hotel rooms computer – there was nobody staying in the room adjoining our room. In that case then – there must be some very lifelike ghosts in the hotel because we have just stood in the corridor and watched two people entering into that room and slamming the door behind them – but in any case, we would like to change rooms – no matter who or what, is slamming the doors in the room next to us. So we were given a third room and thankfully this was much quieter. Again, I understand that this is not the hotel’s fault, but the way they handle problems like this is a test of their professionalism and unfortunately on this occasion – it was unsatisfactory. To state (twice) that the room next to us is unoccupied when we have just explained that we have physically just seen two people enter the room is perhaps not the best response to give the guest. Aside from that minor incident, the stay here was as we expected and the reason we always stay here when visiting Khon Kaen, and – will do again, despite this one-off incident. The rooms, the staff, the facilities, the location – suits us well. Thank you.

We drove from Bangkok to Lao. And choose pullman Khon kaen as the place to relax before continue our road trip. We booked for 4 people(2 adults and 2 kids (7 and 9 years) , we request for extra bed. It’s come with very very old duvet cover and turn to brown color. The room has a lot of dust. Not recommend for allergy person. As when we leave, my girl forgot her push toy. She left it under blanket. We call to front hotel to check it at 10 am. While we also drove back to hotel. As we back to hotel again, Front desk said house keeper have checked but there is nothing l left eft in the room. We ask to check it by ourself and we found her push toy. We got a call from hotel at 2pm, the guy said there is no push toy in the room. Surprise with unhelpful of hotel staff.

We stayed at this hotel solely for the Thanksgiving buffet offered. As many reviewers mention the service is exceptional. The staff is friendly, accommodating and helpful. Yes, the hotel is rather dated but that is not a show stopper. In fact the art deco finishes remind me of old New York from when I was a boy. We had a standard room and it was reasonably spacious, quiet, and had a full bath in addition to a toilet and shower. The wood and marble added a touch of quality. The wifi was fine and was always available and of adequate speed. We did not use the pool but it looked rather unappealing and devoid of extras. The Thanksgiving buffet was extensive and the staff went far and above in its presentation and their service during the event. It cost a fortune though and was not good value for the money for me. The dining room was not at all crowded, which surprised me. The restaurant has a decent albeit slim wine list and we found a nice Italian red. The breakfast buffet was very nice and offered plenty for all. I've not patronized any other hotels in town but there appear to be some with better value but the quality and service at the Pullman carry value too.

Getting on, but still nice

I believe I've stayed at the Pullman in KK two or three times now, and I'll probably be back. The rooms are aging, but the location, service and kind staff cannot really be beat. The breakfast was perhaps the most impressive I've had in Thailand in a while, and that includes the nicer places in Bangkok. I hope a remodel is in the future for this hotel by the next time I come, but even without one, I'd make this my first choice.
