I was a little concerned before we went as some of the more recent reviews were quite negative. However, in general the hotel and service were very good. The hotel b appears to be undergoing a progressive revamp, which caused no disturbance for us. I'm glad we got to see the newly completed alfresco area, it looks great. Would be nice to have the bar open a little later at night. There aren't many places in Darwin to enjoy a quiet drink, but this is perfect.

Unfortunately, the negatives were hot, slow and old list, with dirty doors with hand prints. The room doors outside (from the corridor) were dirty and scratched and carpet was stained, which gave us impression of old run down feel. The hotel has so much potential but it's been like this for a few years Unfortunately.

Nice Hotel, comfortable stay.

Nice Hotel, the open atrium reception and restaurant/bar areas are very well presented. Room is a good size but still could have had a small table and 2 chairs even with sofa (desk is small and a bit low). Aircon was good. Bathroom was good - shower. Staff good. Accor Plus discount made it a good option for last night before flying out. Undercover car-park was next door for $13/night or behind hotel in unsecure outdoors for $9/night. Bed and linen very good and comfortable sleep. Short walk to Mitchell St. Only issue was room high up at back picked up some noise from bars in early evening, but was fine by 9pm.

Great Barramundi dinner, cheap parking, but no gym or shower facilities

Not a bad hotel for a night or two, pretty basic facilities, but the rooms are clean and comfortable. The rooms facing the ocean get the direct sun into the windows and really warms the room up, so the aircon and fan are struggling all the time trying to cool the room down. Pool needs some work. It doesn't look like it does in the pictures on the Hotel website. It needs a good clean, and there is no shade sail over the pool any longer. It just doesn't look very inviting for a swim. No gym or shower facilities which was a shame. They also charge $30 for every hour after 12pm checkout time if you want to extend, yet there is nowhere to shower, so you're kind of forced to extend if needed to shower and change. Breakfast was pretty simple. Hot food was ordered and cooked on request, and the cold food was pretty straight forward. Nothing fancy, cold meats, cereal, juices and yoghurt, enough to get a full stomach. Parking is cheap, $7 a night out the back, so thats not to bad. Hit and miss with service at the bar for lunch and dinner. The bar was unattended for 20mins, and when he got back he said he was out the back stocking fridges. Not my problem, staff the bar if its open and provide customer service. The had the barramundi one evening for dinner - EXCELLENT! Well done chef, so tasty and fresh, very very good! I let the staff know after my meal as well to pass on my feedback, as it was superb. The next day for lunch i had the grilled chicken sandwich. This was terrible! It was very basic and the chips were soggy and not fresh, only just warm, and the sandwich was standard bread, slightly grilled, but soggy, and little amount of chicken inside. Its something a 5yo could make at home! Overall it wasn't to bad for a night, but i wouldn't be running back.
