This is a beautiful hotel, the Palace itself, where a buffet breakfast is served (not much western style food though) is amazingly elegant and luxurious. The main hotel rooms we felt were a bit dated but comfortable. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room, but this was promptly brought to our room upon request the room service food was nice, but as you'd expect a bit pricey. The gardens were immaculately presented with Flamingos wandering the garden. This hotel has a beautiful pool to relax. BEWARE when you leave the complex as you constantly and immediately get harassed by touts or beggars asking for money, kids are often used to beg for their parents, they treat you like a walking ATM. Often, they will say they are hotel employees (which they're not) and take you to shops, and you get ripped off. There is a little corner store 5 minutes walk (if you're brave enough to venture out) that sells very cheap staples, drinks, cigarettes, etc.. would definitely stay again if in Luxor.

This hotel is beautiful, we stayed in The Pavillon Wing of Winter Palace, however we have stayed in the old part also… the standard of service and cleanliness is the same throughout the hotel. Staff are happy serve and to make sure your stay is memorable. all the restaurants serve great food and is presented beautifully ( room service too ) the pool is well kept and staff eager to please, the bar staff are also superb. I have seen some reviews that have commented that the hotel does not allow shorts in the bar and that the 1886 restaurant requires gentlemen to wear a tie…. Well all I can say is that this should never be changed, the hotel is a living memorial to history and mystery…. People coming here generally know what they have booked and embrace its style and beauty. …. There is no GYM… 🤣 I can’t believe someone has complained that this iconic hotel doesn’t have one….. perhaps they should have gone to one of the more modern complexes that are two a penny! Thank you winter Palace.
