There was nothing wrong with our stay, even though only one night. Great location from main station, walking distance. Very close to Christmas markets and Cathedral. Friendly staff. Room had obscured view of the river, but enough to enjoy the view. Would return and recommend.

Stayed over a weekend for a city break. Positives-location central, easy access to train for commute to and from airport. Room clean and bed comfortable. Negatives-we went to check in and male receptionist told us to take a seat and he’d check us in in 5 minutes but he never did, he disappeared, 30 mins later we finally got checked in by another staff member. Slightly annoying. There was an awful smell of sewage in the stairwell and on the first floor where our room was located. The pungent smell remained for the duration of our stay. We asked reception if they’d had a recent flood and the receptionist just said she wasn’t aware as didn’t frequent that part of the hotel but she’d ask her colleagues! The bar wasn’t open at all. Don’t think we’ve ever stayed in a hotel where the bar has been completely closed. It was a shame as it looked nice in promotional pictures. Perhaps the website requires updating to inform guests of this. They did sell beer, wine and Prosecco out a fridge in reception but not quite the same as having a hotel bar to relax in to have an evening pre or post dinner drink.

- Nice big lobby with small shop - good room with tea and coffee making facilities -less than 10 mins walk to Cologne hbf station - late checkout from noon - good shower Cons: Very expensive breakfast >30 per person, that why we didn’t take it Decoration in the room was a bit dull nothing about Cologne specifically

Wonderful place to stay for The Christmas markets!!

Nice hotel that is very convenient to the train station, Dom and the Christmas Markets! Very comfortable beds. Nice quiet hotel. Try Oma’s for breakfast. It is right down the street and is less expensive than the hotel restaurant. The bar at the hotel, Legs 11 is nice. Just wish they had more consistent hours. Was closed 5 out of the 6 days we were there. Be sure to get to the restaurant before the philharmonic crowd gets there. It’s located directly across from the hotel. They go before and after the concerts. We were able to walk the 1.5 mile along the Rhine to the Cologne zoo for the China lights. Do not purchase tickets online ahead of time with the insurance. A family member got hurt and we were unable to make it on the day and there was no way to exchange them for another day or get a refund. So we purchased them twice!

We spent a 4 night stay over the New Year This hotel is in a very good location in the centre within easy access to all tourist attractions bars and restaurants- most within walking distance, however, the central railway station is close to the hotel should you wish to travel further afield Everything was excellent from the friendly welcome, spotlessly clean, well equipped room, extremely comfortable bed with warm cosy duvets and excellent plentiful breakfast offering a wide variety of options to suit every taste We had dinner in the restaurant one evening which was also very good Would not hesitate to return
