Check in at 0300hrs was handled excellently by night receptionist. Finding the hotel entrance, through the extensive roadworks, was a nightmare - better signs needed. Breakfast and (room service) evening meal were horrendous - food poor quality, cold and poor tasting. Outside noise, during night, prevented any sleep. Will never go there again!!

O quarto onde me encontro agora deveria ter um colchão de casal pois ao estar deitado num dos lados fico desconfortável devido a ser dois colchões .

Had the pleasure of staying here for 14 nights. From check-in to Check-out everything went smooth and the staff were very helpful. Quality of food in restaurant is excellent, if not a bit limited. Air-conditioning was not working for a few days and the rooms were exceptionally hot, however this was only short term and it was eventually fixed, it is not the best Air-conditioning i have ever used but it works. Access during Works outside was a little difficult and unless you were early the parking in the hotel grounds filled up quickly.

Comfortable hotel with clean rooms

We had a lovely stay at this hotel in one of the privilage rooms. Cosy, clean room. Our view was not the best ( r 709 ) but because of this it was a quiet room with no traffic sounds. Hotel is 20 minute walk from groningen center. Good breakfast with a lot of choices warm and cold. Friendly staff.

Stayed for 3 nights at this Mercure/AllAccor facility and was pleasantly surprised by the great and endless hospitality at this hotel. Great staff, very friendly and helpfull on all occassions. Rooms are clean, and have good size (we had a suite, which was excellent). Food in the restaurant was top quality, also for my spouse as she has a milk allergy; all was fitted for here by the chef, really special !

It was our 4th time in this hotel. This time we use very comfort suite. Perfect for business or family meetings.Best location for travelers with car. Parking and free Internet. Good fruit basket, minibar and cafe included in the prize.

Arrived to a very nice hotel, good welcome and clean. Room was good but would have preferred a better view. Had a nice buffet breakfast which was served in the tray, due to precautions of the Coronavirus, which I think was good

Very nice hotel which is close to major attractions in the city. Very good breakfast. Rooms are clean with comfortable beds. TV channels selection was great and internet speed was enough for conducting business.

our twice yearly visit to Groningen UNI from uk. Southend to Groningen flybe flight NO 9 bus then 200 yard walk so easy to hotel. Usual warm and well prepared welcome. take a Privilege room double 8th floor at the back hotel quiet and central to bar breakfast and reception.Room has good wifi uk tv channels( 5) and working facilities desk well heated with a/c hertz car hire just across roundabout if needed

Nice informal hotel with high service minded staff, I was feeling very welcome. The room was nothing exceptional, but sufficient, beds and tv were good. Near to the highway has a consequence that you hear some noise from the highway sleeping with the open window

Pet unfriendly

Mercure Groningen does not accept pets. We failed to check in advance, as we have travelled with our Labrador on holidays for more than 25 years (not the same one) and were never refused. We had the clear impression that pets were welcome at all Accor hotels. In accept responsibility for not checking, but the service at the Mercure Groningen was appalling. I asked whether there was another Accor hotel close by or another hotel accepting pets in ther city. I was told that no such information was available. Fortunately we did find another hotel in Groningen, and proceeded to Maastricht, Gent and Bruxelles, staying at pet friendly Accor hotels.

Staff went out of their way to ensure a good stay by all guests. There were many international musicians staying at the hotel, due to a music festival in the city centre. The hotel staff did everything possible during the weekend to assist everyone.

Comfortable hotel with attentive staff

We booked an executive room which was very comfortable if a little on the small side. The free mini bar provided wine, beer and soft drinks. The room was quiet and the bed comfortable. There was a good bathroom too, along with a kettle and Nespresso coffee maker.On the first night I requested some fresh milk to take up to the room for our tea and this was readily provided (Dutch people rarely have milk in their tea). However, on another evening a manager (or so he appeared) was at the reception desk when I made this request and he told me I would have to order this at the bar (and presumably pay for it!!!). A really disappointing attitude. However, the barman was more understanding and provided half a cup of milk free of charge. This manager needs some further training in customer service - and could learn a lot from his staff!

We enjoyed our stay in the Mercure Hotel in Groningen very much. The staff was very kind and helpful. We received a superior room with a very nice view on the impressive Gasunie building. The restaurant was very good. We especially enjoyed the service by the waiter. The hotel location was not the most beautiful place, but it was very convenient as it was close to a motorway exit (therefore easy to find). We used the bus to the city centre. The bus station was just a little bit more than 5 minutes of walking and there was direct line to the city centre (so very convenient) with a ride of about 15 minutes. We will for sure go back to this hotel when visiting Groningen to next time..

Staff did not meet Mercure standards

The infrastructure of this hotel complies with the Mercure chain around the world. Room size and cleanliness, breakfast quality. Unfortunately, the reception staff was sort of rude and unhelpful. We forgot one item in the room at checkout (09:00AM) and when we came for our bags at 18:00 and asked about it, no further effort was done beyond looking bureaucratically for it in the hotel lost-and-found premises.
