Chose the Mercure Metropole as we were doing day trips by car to the WW1 battlefields in southern Belgium, and meeting friends from the UK (Eurostar). Has pretty good facilities for business meetings / groups, but perhaps not aligned with holiday travellers. The restaurant staff were abrupt, even to the point of clearing our table of all plates / utensils while we were selecting items from the buffet! It means someone has to stay and guard the table..... On our day of departure (after 4 nights), the hotel had no water supply due to maintenance works - but there was no warning of this and it was a bad way to start out a day of travel. The manager did at least provide some compensation by deleting the evening drink we had at the bar the night before (a shame we didn't have more than one drink!) In short, nothing too fancy - but pretty good value and rooms meet expectations.

Close to motorway, but sat nav assistance for last 1km much appreciated. Unimposing from outside, but very warm welcome & able to check in before midday. Standard room was very comfortable & well lit & a view overlooking lawns & trees rather than the car park was appreciated. We benefited from a set menu dinner which we were surprised to see on a Saturday evening. An excellent breakfast was part of our pre-pay deal. Service was prompt & efficient (eg for extra pillows, tea etc.)

Really enjoyed our 3 night stay. I was playing hockey and needed a hotel which would be good for my wife while I was away playing. Could not have picked a better place. Easy to get to from Brussels Airport and ample free parking. Rooms and beds very large. A free safe and fridge was included! We had a steak dinner on our first night and it was excellent. Breakfast was also excellent, loads of choice. The weather was fantastic so we made use of the back terrace plus a stroll along the canal at the rear of hotel. There is a tram stop really close - cheap ride into the centre of town. Everything very clean and staff always had a smile. Highly recommended.

Staff very friendly and the accessible room was excellent for a wheelchair user who can only walk a couple of steps with support. The breakfast was also excellent and the general amentities, again for a wheelchair user particularly, were very good.

Recently modernised reception area.Rooms as always spacious + comfortable.Good choice restaurant menu overseen by respectful restaurant manager who has been there for years!Although I had mistakenly booked for another date,my arrival was accepted

I have stayed on this hotel several times and it's been ok. This time was different. The hotel is under renovation and the lobby is a mess as well as the lift. I must admit that it's strange to pay normal price when the hotel is not fully functioning. I could not get the lift to work and had to find someone from the hotel to help me.

This was a 4 day stay and my first visit.Everything about this hotel is large and impressive. The entrance, the trees and landscaping, the massive entrance lobby, the bedrooms and of course the bath!!. The staff were all very responsive and helpful including the Reception, the bar and the restaurant. The breakfast buffet counter went on and on. Best have a good look first. I understand this hotel started out as a Sofitel which is probably why everything is large. I ought to add that my stay was during August and none of the many seminar rooms were in use. The tram stop is very close and a 10 journey ticket good value. Thoroughly recommended and I hope to return soon.

My family and I stayed at the hotel for two nights in September 2014. The hotel is nicely located outside Lille and in a quiet area (walking trails nearby). Lille is easily accessible (20 min) by light rail system: the station is across the street from the hotel. The rooms were comfortable and the service was excellent. We enjoyed lunch and breakfasts in the hotel restaurant. This was an excellent stay. We shall return.

We arrived early but the very helpful receptionist assured us we could get into our room immediately. She also helped us with information regarding trams and ticket information along with lots of other helpful hints for our stay in Lille. Our superior double was excellent with plenty of complementary coffee and tea. The free car parking was good. The tram stop at the entrance to the hotel runs every ten to fifteen minutes and takes you into the centre of Lille. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. The scrambled eggs, cooked to order, were delicious.

The hotel is not close to the city centre but very close to the ring road. Rooms were suprisingly spacious and quiet. I found the staff very friendly and helpful. I didn't take advantage of the hotel restaurant but the bar was large and inviting.

Lovely hotel, great room, great bed, good restaurant, friendly staff , free parking. Close to Lille. My only reservation is the decor of restaurant not to 4 * hotel standard in my opinion. Also, not easy to find the hotel.if you have no sat nave, which just decide to packed up as we hit France.

This hotel is right by a tram stop for the centre of Lille and also just off the motorways, so well situated for arriving by car and then exploring Lille on foot, via the tram. In a quiet suburb, set back from a main road.

The extensive road network at Lille makes this hotel quite difficult to find and access, however it is a lovely place to stay in nice surroundings. There was a good choice of evening meal and breakfast. The room was comfortable and quiet.

I stayed just the one night on a sunday. The hotel was in a quiet part of town mixed residential and business. On the whole the hotel was clean, the rooms were fine. the grounds looked very nice but didnt have time to explore. the bed was clean and comfortable but i found that the pillows to be less so. the most disappointing aspect of this hotel was the food which i found to be very bland and overcooked. Also the prices for drinks in the bar were very expensive. Agood point is that it is very easy to get to on the tram straight from eurostar station.

Have stayed in this hotel when it was a SOFITEL+thereafter.Easy access to+from motorways.Handy for Lille city-centre via public transport.Friendly+efficient staff.Very comfortable rooms.Good bar+restaurant.Good room offers
