We were not offered any discount and breakfast vouchers for our inconvenience of having to switch hotels due to the power failure. We did find out that breakfast was offered to other guest.

We went to Novotel Ottawa as part of our vacation to see the Tulip Festival. We picked the hotel based on the location and the convenience of being in downtown. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were fantastic and the hotel was very clean. The rooms were decorated well and they were well maintained. We enjoyed our breakfast in the Hotel's Albion Rooms. There were many options to choose from for all your breakfast needs. They have a chef preparing warm meals as per your request. In addition, the standard food options were plentiful and delicious. I was awed by the amount of tea you can choose from at the breakfast buffet. The Albion Rooms looks elegant and with the perfect décor. There is definitely a luxurious feel and provide an excellent ambience. Even though the hotel parking lot was not functional when we were there (it was under construction/renovation), there is another parking lot right in front of the hotel that mitigated any potential inconvenience from not having a parking lot within the hotel property. Overall, I recommend this hotel for your stay.

Enjoyed my stay. The room was fine. Kept clean and the housekeeping service was great. Beds were comfortable. The front desk experience left a lot to be desired. Whether rude or aloof, every person who I spoke to at the front desk was absolutely uninterested in being helpful. There was somebody smoking on our floor - this was dealt with in a satisfactory and immediate manner. The lack of parking & luggage carts or any assistance at all really makes you wanna stay somewhere else.
