1. Rooms and toilet Good. 2. Decent front desk Negatives: 1. Hardly one set tea bags in room. No milk provided. 2. We stayed for two nights. One bottle water peovided only on day 1. 3. Room service sucks. We asked for two plates to have food in room. They refused. 4. Despite being Accor member, refused an hour of extended check out. Close to Larissa Metro station. Not a very convenient on if one wants to explore key attractions in city. Have better choices in a 2 KM radius of this hotel.

Appalling Service at Novotel Athens – Room 317 | Stay Dates: 10–12 April & 19 April 2025 If you’re considering Novotel Athens, think again. We stayed for 3 nights from 10th to 12th April and again on 19th April 2025 (Room 317), and the experience was nothing short of disgraceful. During our first stay over the Easter weekend, the hotel refused to provide any food for my 2.5-year-old toddler — even though everything outside was closed. We weren’t asking for anything elaborate — just mashed potatoes or boiled vegetable, as my son could only eat that .The staff showed zero empathy, zero effort, and absolutely no concern for a hungry child. They brushed us off with cold indifference, offering no support or solutions. This is not just bad service — it’s inhuman. For a hotel that claims to be “family-friendly,” this is completely unacceptable. Do not choose Novotel Athens. If you’re traveling with children, or simply expect basic decency and hospitality, avoid this hotel. There are far better places in Athens that understand the meaning of care and service.

Extremely Disappointed with the Service

We had a truly horrible experience during our recent stay. Despite traveling with a 2.5-year-old child, the hotel outright refused to provide basic boiled potatoes, citing it was “against hotel policy” as it wasn’t on the menu. This level of rigidity, especially when it comes to children’s needs, is unacceptable and something we’ve never faced in any hotel around the world. To make matters worse, the restaurant staff were extremely unprofessional. They were rude and easily offended if you tried to clarify or repeat your order — basic customer service was entirely missing. We’ve travelled extensively across the globe, and this has by far been one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had. I would strongly advise against choosing this hotel, especially if you’re traveling for leisure or with young children. Absolutely not recommended.

Novotel Athens - a two star hotel

We stayed at Novotel Athens in April 2025, booking a family room for four. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet our expectations. The rooms were quite small, which made the stay less comfortable than anticipated. We were assigned a room facing the street, and with the air conditioning not functioning, it was challenging to get a good night's sleep. The receptionist informed us that the air conditioning was not turned on before May, leaving us with the only options of sleeping in a room that felt like a sauna at 27 degrees or enduring the noise from traffic all night long. This made for an uncomfortable and restless stay. Additionally, the hotel’s location is in a less desirable part of town, with a noticeable presence of homeless individuals and a lot of abandoned buildings nearby. The swimming pool area was mainly closed during our 7 day stay. The staff mentioned various reasons—sickness among employees, seasonal closure, and repainting—though it was unclear which was accurate, especially since the hotel website states the pool is open from March. The pool ended up being open 2 days out of our 7 days. The pool area - when open - was however nice. Overall, our experience was disappointing and did not align with the expectations set by the Novotel brand. Instead of a four star hotel I would rate it a two star hotel - far below the usual standard of the Novotel brand.
