Great Location, Hotel Services Need Improvements

We booked our first Paris vacation with Novotel Paris Les Halles, the location was excellent, closed proximity to all amenities. The hotel was beautiful, even though there was major renovation was going on during our stay. Hotel entrance was mostly covered by renovations. We booked a three night stays and paid a good fortune for this. After the first night, I could barely had any sleep due to stuffy air in the room, I thought it was just me, but both my husband and kid complained of the same things. We spent most of our days out sightseeing, upon returning to our room, it was the same thing with stuffy air and hot. We called down to the lobby and was told that someone will come up shortly to take a look. Hours went by and no one came up, we went out for dinner and returned later in the evening, the room was really hot and uncomfortable. We called down again and this time, there were two people that came up. They tried to figure out what was wrong with the thermostat, then told us that it has broken and there is nothing that they could do about it. I asked if we could switch room and was told that the hotel doesn't have room to accommodate the three of us. One of the hotel staff told us to open our patio door (this was December 27 and -1C outside)!! We slept that night with the patio door cracked open, since there was no air circulation in the room. The next morning, I went downstairs and discussed this matter again with the front desk, and was told that they are waiting for the technician to come. At the same time, other guests who were standing closed by told me that the entire hotel rooms are in the same situation, they have checked in for four days, and were told that there was no air conditioning or circulation in any rooms. Upon that moment, a hotel staff asked if he could check out our room with a technician. We lead them to our room and that we were told that their new system has been set up to turn off all air conditioning in the winter and each room has been installed with a motion sensor that as soon as there was no motion in the room, everything will shut down. Therefore, during our stay, if we don't move around, the sensor will shut down the air circulation. I was very disappointed with the explanation, this could have been presented to us upon our check in, as well as our first call downstairs, rather than our last day. We paid full price for our stays and expected the complete honesty, and instead we got the runs around!!

A top quality hotel in the centre of Paris.

Had three rooms for three nights on B&B basis. Rooms were clean and serviced daily (if you wish). The breakfast room doubles up as a large bar at other times with limited but quality bar food available until 10pm. No restaurant for an EM, but the district has loads of eating places a short walk away. Over the Christmas period the rooms are at a premium and the rate reflects that.

Great place to stay in the city centre

I stayed in this hotel for three nights in April 2024 with my family, and I must say it is a great place to stay if you are looking for a hotel in the city center. It is situated right next to the Les Halles metro station and most tourist places are easily accessible using the metro network from here. We can even board the train to Disney Land from this station. Even stations like Gar De Lyon where we can catch trains to other European nations are not too far from the hotel. Its proximity to the Louvre Museum, San Chappel, Sean River, and the metro station, makes it a perfect place for tourists to stay in Paris. Plenty of restaurants are nearby offering a wide range of cuisines. The place is busy so there is some sense of safety around here. The breakfast spread at the hotel is decent and the bakery items served are fresh and delicious. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. I must admit that without their help it might have been slightly difficult for us to navigate the metro rail network and reach some of the tourist destinations like the Church of Sacre-Coeur. One downside was the room size. It was smaller for a family of three. But the amenities were sufficient and we won't complain about the sleep quality. Overall it was a charming experience and we would love to stay if we visit Paris again.

I cannot fault the service and warmth from all the staff! We were given some treats as it was my special birthday, which I thought was a lovely touch! When we arrived, the hotel had just opened that day! They checked us in early, which we appreciated, as we had been up early that day to catch our 6:30 train. The location is brilliant, super close to everything and even walkable to lots of places. If you have kids, this is the perfect location with Westfield on your doorstep too. We ate at an Italian called Miss Italia, in Westfield and my kids loved it! Easy if you have kids who want pizza and pasta and reasonably priced. The hotel had a lovely added touch, with warm hot chocolate, mulled wine and some sweets for the kids plus some cakes during the day, that was complimentary! My kids loved the sweets and hot chocolate, they also allowed us to sit and enjoy it in the restaurant. There were so many positives about this hotel. However, a couple of things people should be aware of! The hotel is undergoing major renovation works (on-going for almost a year and a half), expect some noise, we were out all day so not so bad for us. At breakfast, it was chaotic and busy as it’s a small section! Things did run out very quickly, knowing it’s a busy period maybe more stock is needed! The toaster oven wasn’t working, think the fuse went, not much bread left around 9am. The gym was closed but they offer the facilities of the fitness centre at the next door hotel! It was small with a few machines but did the job for me. The staff made the stay a memorable one for us but when the work is over, this will be an excellent place to stay.

This hotel is well located. Nice cafes and lots of choices for food. Direct train to the airport (45min ride) in Les Halles station. It is on top of a train station so it's easy to go everywere in Paris. Close to Notre Dame, lots of shops around. At nights the area gets crowdy, but as long as we stayed there it was safe. Hotel staff super nice and helpful. Comfy beds, good bathroom, it was all clean and cizy. Everything about our stay was very good.
