I had booked this hotel just a couple of weeks before my travel date without checking the reviews. Once I saw the negative reviews I was so skeptical. Yet my experience was way beyond expectations. My stay was super pleasant, the hotel is 2 mins walking away from place de la republique which has 5 metro lines and 5+ bus lines. My room was clean and tidy. It is a bit small but it is normal compared to the average hotel room sizes in Paris. Staff were really helpful. Never had any lift issues as mentioned by some other people. The room was heated, the bed and cushions were super comfortable, hot water was available in my bathtub 24/7. The best thing in the morning is the smell of fresh croissant and pain au chocolat freshly baked for breakfast. If i want to talk about cons i would mention 2 points: 1- I was able to hear the footsteps of the people staying in the room above me.(but this was not an issue for me since i was out most of the time) 2- my room had no view But i would definitely reserve it again for my next trip.

Best to avoid this over-priced pretend hotel! Uncomfortable bed, filthy carpets, dirty windows and unfriendly reception staff. Whole place needs to be gutted of its throw-back to 1960's decor, which includes chipboard wallpaper in rooms. Only OK thing about the place was breakfast.

I was given room 100. It is on the first floor. The ceiling was extremely low and in the shower I had something like 15 cm space above my head. I noticed from the outside that the first floor was indeed much lower than other floors. Above that, the room smelled very unpleasant and it badly needed a renovation. Totally unworthy for an Ibis hotel! The breakfast was the only positive point I can mention.

Not the standard you would expect from an IBIS/ ACCOR Hotel. No amount of cleaning will improve this hotel. Very tired worn-out hotel in need of refurbishment from top to bottom (the staff suggested that this was about to happen). Check in slow, staff are unfriendly, unhelpful and reception staff spend most of their time with earphones in their ears. Breakfast is passable, but choice is limited. AVOID THIS HOTEL until the place has been refurbished.

40 minute check in time has to be a record! Apparantly it was due to new software - proper training would have been the solution to this. No “bonjour” on arrival, quite a surly man at the desk, no apology for the wait. Bedroom 307 ok although the floor was slanted and the bed was therefore also slanted! However very clean and housekeeping provided us the extra pillows requested straightaway (we asked the maid directly instead of having to go to reception again!). Breakfast satisfactory but the staff very surly and prefer to be in their phones instead of replenishing food and cleaning tables. There seems to be a real management issue in this hotel - lack of adequate training and supervision. Very good location 5 minutes from the metro.
