Smallest hotel I've ever been in. AC is turned off (here early Oct). Windows can be opened but for security we asked to be moved to upper room. Freaked us out a bit when the parking area was surrounded by a tall chain link fence that is locked at night. Wondering if it was in a safe area or not- never could decide. It’s in the suburbs of Nimes in a “hotel park”. Receptionists were fantastic and lovely people. No room safe, no fridge. No extra blankets or pillows- very very basic striped down room. Breakfast was okay similar to the usual offerings at a chain hotel. It was clean and quiet and inexpensive just not the greatest atmosphere.

Pros. - in the middle of industrial area close to many shopping malls including big Carrefour market - nice pool and reception area, colourful, functional and modern - very friendly front desk staff - small room as always but everything works - small but nice breakfast buffet Cons. - only one small elevator with sometimes long waiting time - the coffee during breakfast was not that much tasting (huge automatic all in one coffee machine)

Everything in the Ibis style... only much worse. On arrival they wanted the credit card as a guarantee even though it had all been paid for in advance, on the website it says that the restaurant is open and instead it was closed, forcing us to go out by motorbike in the rain, the room is very small and certainly not Ibis standard. On the positive side there is the reserved parking for motorbikes right in front of the entrance and the gate always closed. All in all, the staff were friendly, and the breakfast buffet was up to standard. I am an Ibis customer and member, but this one in Nîmes is not up to their standard.

As for the restaurant, it is clearly stated on our website that it is closed on weekends. To address this, we offer a snack menu, and there is also a restaurant located just across from the hotel, which remains open. Nevertheless, we understand your disappointment and will ensure that this information is made even more visible to avoid any misunderstandings. We are glad that our team was able to remain friendly. Let down by lack of restaurant service

The room was typical of Ibis (tight, a bit small but functional). The hotel reception was polite, kind and thorough. In most cases, I would at least rate the hotel between 3 or 4 stars as it is in the ball park of what you expect for this type of hotel. However, the restaurant staff really let down their team. Don't really remember the last time when I have been sat down in a restaurant with the menu in front of me, waved and gotten one member of staff to acknowledge that she would be back in two minutes, made eye contact with two other older members of staff, who proceeded to serve and ignore. 10 to 15 minutes later, absolutely nothing whilst they are preoccupied cleaning tables and serving pretty much everybody else, including those waiting for a table. You would think taking an order would be quick?! Not asking for close attentive service here, just the bare basics!!
