This place needs an urgent upgrade as the private villas are extremely poorly maintained. Our private pool villa was so disappointing. It had unkept gardens full of weeds, long grass around our pool that looked like it hadn't been cut for weeks as well as empty Bintang beer cans in our garden from previous guests that cleaners hadn't bothered picking up before we arrived. Also a hole/rip in the mosquito screen of our front door. Aircon stopped working and when the worker removed the filter it was filthy. A number of the young male waitstaff at breakfast/the restaurant spoke little to no English and a simple request for bread had to be relayed to 3 different people before it was understood. We cut short our stay and moved hotels due to the state of our villa. A very, very poor experience at a Novotel branded 'resort' and NOT worth the $450 AUD p/night they charge. It is a 3 star 'resort' at best (service is 2 star only). A very old, tired hotel and extremely overpriced for what is offers. The hotel seems to spend a lot of money on their general facilities and completely ignore spending on any maintenance for the pool villas.

Stay at Novotel Lombok Resort & Villas Mandalika was fantastic! The location was perfect, the view is so beutiful. The room was spacious, spotless, and the bed was incredibly comfortable with great pillows. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, making us feel so welcome and specially thanks to Ms Kiki. We especially loved the breakfast; the buffet had a huge variety, and the food was delicious. The water pressure in the shower was strong and the hot water worked perfectly. Highly recommend for a stay and specially thanks to The Sales Mr. Didit.

We spent 6 nights in Novotel Lombok and we had a really great stay. The rooms are comfortable and so is the bathroom. Spacious, clean. The rooms could do with a bit of freshening up though. The hotel resembles an African type village on the beach: really very nice! The bay/beach is probably one of the best and most beautiful on Lombok. There is a very good pool and a small fitness. Breakfast is really good. Lots of warm options western and Asian. Coffee is great. Fresh fruits, yoghurts, juices. Lots of bread and pastries. Variations throughout the week. We also had some wonderful dinners there. Sate, nasi, chicken dishes all very very tasty. And they make great cocktails. The level of service is outstanding. The staff is very very friendly, courteous: they do their very best to make your stay as good as possible. Udin is a great host, among many. All in all a very very enjoyable stay. This hotel still has a nice intimacy to it as opposed to many bigger competitors.

I recently stayed at Novotel Lombok [insert dates of stay], and I’m writing to express concern about a situation that occurred during a hotel-arranged outing. The driver assigned by the hotel took us to a weaving village shop that sold us what turned out to be a fake “handwoven” textile. We later learned that the item was not genuinely handmade as claimed. This was very disappointing, especially as the visit was arranged under the impression that it was an authentic cultural experience recommended by Novotel.
