we've been guests of Novotel Amboise for the last 5 years, on the way home from our country house in France. It'd a perfect place to have a good nigth's rest, parking is easy, and the city centre of Amboise (blessed with some good restaurants) is only a 15min walk away.

This hotel is just outside of Amboise and in a stunning location. Our family stay was for one night only but we found the time to pay a quick visit to the vast Sunday market. The hotel itself is comfortable and downstairs well furnished. If you are thinking of using the hotel as a stop over, do book dinner ahead as they were completely full, better still, have a meal in beautiful Amboise, France at its most authentic.

Functional and clean hotel. Comfortabel well-furnished rooms. Nice terrace and swimming pool area with view towards Amboise castle. Good parking space. Hotel was quite busy due to large bus travel group(s) but check-in was efficient. Not very close to autoroute or to Amboise town: quite far to walk to chateaux and restaurants, downhill.

Hotel is located 2km outside Amboise and just 10km from the busy Chenonceau Castle. Parking is free. The hotel room is as you would expect from Novotel apart from the airco and fridge which did not work (not so OK with 30 °). When we went to the reception to mention this they knew that the fridge had a problem. We handed over some cold packs and wanted to pick them up in the morning. In the morning we got the message sorry but we forgot to freeze them. The breakfast is a nightmare compared to other Novotel hotels. First of all the room is very bright. I mentioned that I have light sensitive eyes but the member of staff did put us in a bright zone which I refused. The breakfast choice and quality offered is poor compared to the Novotel standard which we know. We have been staying around the world as gold (and before platinium) member we have a lot of good Novotel breakfast experiences. It is interesting to know when you check out that there is a free minigolf place. All thanks to the blonde receptionist who checks you in to your room in record time. Overall we loved Loire valley but we regret not having stayed in another hotel An extra drink or Accor points as compensation would have been welcome. What we received was we know and "désolé"

In spite of the hotel is around 2 km of the centre, the excellent staff and housekeeping will compensate if you decide for this Novotel. On the other hand, its location will easily allow you to access the other castles near Novotel.
