We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again. Prepping a packing list ahead of time saves you time, energy and stress. Build a library of packing lists for different destinations, listing specifics for your toiletries bag, your business and leisure wardrobe and all the tech you need. You’ll be so glad you did when a business trip appears out of nowhere – as they so often do.

A what? A capsule wardrobe is a collection of items curated to work really well together, whatever the occasion. It’s a great approach to slowing fashion and thinking less, as well, even when you’re not travelling. 

Identify the colours that look good on you and complement each other. Pick tops, shirts, trousers, skirts that work well, then build in accessories – scarves, necklaces, ties, hats – so you can mix and match items to create completely different outfits. You’ll be amazed how far you can push a single pair of trousers when it’s paired with smart shirt and tie, a dress-down T, a branded polo shirt or a glittery evening top (maybe not for the gents, that last one). Talk about redefining convenience.

Travel documents? Keep them together, safe, in the same place, all the time. There is nothing as stressful as losing your passport the evening before you travel. Work documents? Keep them in your laptop bag, along with a notepad, pen, sticky notes and a stack of business cards. Sliding a large envelope in your bag for expenses receipts will also help – it’s the little things, right?
