Disappointing stay

My stay at Ibis was quite disappointing. The hospitality standards have really deteriorated. Despite making my reservation beforehand and receiving confirmation, the team could not locate my reservation. I had to pull out my reservation number after waiting for sometime. The room I was given was on the 9th floor and was not clean, had some damage and I requested to be moved. The next room I was given on the 3rd floor was in a better state but the room door was not locking. On the first day, the housekeeper had to help me lock it. I was told a technician would look at it. The second day following a series of meetings outside the hotel, I return and my door is unlocked. I informed the reception, was told a technician would look at it and it seemed to have been handled. This same evening, I called reception, the restaurant to order room service but no answer for close to half an hour...I went downstairs to place my order and found the staff dancing to the live band that was performing. Completely unacceptable and this following a long day. Upon return to my room, the door was again unlocked. Technician was called again and it seemed to be fine. The next day I set out to run a few errands, return with my shopping and get to my door and the door opens without the key. I call reception and the staff is quite rude, states she will send a technician, refers to me as Sir when I am a woman. Technician comes and knocks and I tell him to come in and he is able to walk right in as the door does not lock. I called to speak with the manager, they assure me they will move me and will lock the door manually. I leave the hotel to go on an errand and return later. I am informed that I am being moved and escorted to my room to retrieve my belongings. Interestingly, the door was not locked manually, the key card is used to unlock the door. I am moved to a room on the second floor. I settle in and try to watch some tv and the remote is not working. I call the reception and they come to replace the batteries. At this stage I am only grateful that I am checking out the next day. I meet my colleague the next day W. has traveled from Botswana and he too states that the standards have gone down. We both decide that we do not want the organization to book us at Ibis anymore and request that the Logistics Officer be informed and subsequently have a discussion with the hotel on these incidents.
