Check in: It was Bland, no carisma whatsoever , even tho we got an upgrade to a “villa” because we were there for our anniversary , there was no effort to make us feel welcome to a celebration , guest services failed, smiles weren’t visible at all, and as to a requested tote bag since we were in a villa because they were “out of stock” but the housekeeper had them and provided one. The lobby was spectacular!! I had a great time at the wine bar with Keith, awesome bartender with perfect mixology skills, music was a good vibe, live band from Chico Cabaret, cant say the same for the other bartender at the chandelier bar, rude never even interacted, didn’t care to take his name so we walked away. The room, as i walk in the moldy smell was up in the air, but i thought it was because of the carpet and the room being outdated, didnt think much of it, untill i saw mold stains on the curtains, and on top of the bed frame a Glade scent, like, seriously? Glade? Anyways, then i went to check the bed and to my surprise, the linen looked and smelled as if they never changed the sheets from the previous guest, stained, wrinkled and had make up all over the pillows, at this point i tried calling housekeeping for the linen to be changed but i couldn’t even make a call since the phone wasn’t working, so i had to walk all the way to front desk to make the request, they offered to do the linen change but i didnt want anyone in the room since was already unpacked and wanted to relax and have fun, no points for housekeeping, except for Mireya she did her best to make it right but we declined. I took pictures but decided not to post them. At this point im ready to chill so we headed over to the pool, Mr Jose Tous took really good care of us as soon as he heard the motive we were celebrating, he had Wesley nice kid, good people skills set up our Cabana made our first night forget the begging of the day! Next day we decided to stay all day at the pool and beach since is were we were best treated by Mr Tous, Michael ourwaiter at the Cabana along with Sheila, we had so much fun with them, also Jesus gave us some pointers as to were ti have fun within the hotel but of course we had decided that the pool is were the fun is. Overall, hotel rooms are kinda outdated, if i were to recommend people i tell them to take a matress to the pool they would have better experience there, would i go back? Sure, id give it a second try.

We just spent the weekend at the Fairmont El San Juan Hotel during our rugby tour, and everyone had an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our group felt welcomed and well taken care of. The hotel itself is stunning, with multiple bars, restaurants, and pools - all with a fun, lively and vibrant atmosphere. We were particularly impressed by the sports bar, where we hosted a drinks event to unwind after our rugby match. The space was perfect for our group and we were well taken care of by hotel staff throughout. The beach access and facilities were great too. Our group can't recommend the Fairmont El San Juan Hotel enough. We had a luxurious and fun-filled stay in an oasis located in a bustling part of San Juan, making it an ideal spot for any group getaway. We can't wait to return!

Fairmont SJ location has a lot to offer for adults and is also family friendly. The casino is nice addition and direct beach access makes enjoying the sunset easy! There's also lively entertainment and shopping. As a local, this is always a fun staycation. 5 Stars!

Once a 'Better' 5-Star, but Still Fine

Hotel amenity cutbacks occurring across the USA; El San Juan Hotel is no exception. No more complimentary shavers or toothbrushes, yet still a fine, enjoyable lodge. A 10- minute drive from the airport, lots of room at the pool, Isla Verde beaches are larger and cleaner than Condado's, it's a short walk to restaurants and a supermarket, there are restaurants and shopping boutiques within the hotel, and its lobby of two bars, a live music lounge, and a happening dance club Brava is the place to be on Friday and Saturday evenings. Certainly a little pricey, but very recommended.

Beautiful hotel with poor customer service.

The hotel by its self is beautiful but when staying at such a nice establishment one would expect at least average customer service. This was by far the worse staff I've ever encountered. Myself or my wife are not ones to complain but the way we were treated was terrible. I'll give one example. We used the venue for our wedding ceremony and reception so of course we booked a room and had others in our party do the same. While going over our rehearsal we had a woman from security stop us in a demeaning tone and ask if we have rooms at the hotel. We answered with yes and that we had a wedding ceremony there the following day. She once again asked us if we were staying at the hotel, so we repeated ourselves once again and she kind of gave us this strange look. After continuing to go over rehearsal she stops us a second time asking us the same thing. This made myself, my wife, and all of our wedding party very uncomfortable. We understand safety is important but there is a way of talking to guests without making them feel unwanted. I mentioned this incident to another senior member of security and was given a stone face no sorry for the inconvenience or anything. I'd like to reiterate that myself or my wife aren't ones to complain and this actually my first time going online and writing a bad review. Please be sure to train your staff on proper ways to conduct business. Such a beautiful hotel should not go to waste.
