Honeymoon from Hell! Do not book this hotel!

As our honeymoon began we could barely contain our excitement as we had waited a whole year for this trip since our wedding day. Unfortunately as we landed in Antalya, our excitement was very short lived and our holiday quickly became very stressful. After collecting our luggage, we headed to the TUI transfer bus where we were greeted by a very rude and angry transfer driver that was very difficult to communicate with. We were put onto a tiny minibus along with 9 other guests which was very crammed. After refusing assistance from ourselves, the driver threw our suitcase in the back of the bus alongside the other guests. There was barely enough room for everyone’s luggage so the cases were crammed in behind the doors. Once everyone was on the minibus and the luggage was loaded, we made our journey to the hotel, our hotel was the first drop off and we arrived roughly 1am. Once we arrived at the hotel, we gave the driver enough money to cover the drinks we had on the journey plus a good tip. However, the driver became very aggressive in his manor and started shouting at us and another couple wanting more money. This caused a lot of unnecessary stress and due to feeling very worried and vulnerable, myself and my wife turned around to get some more money out of our bag. During this time the driver had stormed off back to the vehicle and drove off with one of our small suitcases We spoke to the reception staff at the hotel straight away and asked them to ring the other hotels that we expecting guests from our mini bus and ask them to take the suitcase until the morning. The reception staff were very unhelpful and refused to help and said to sort it out in the morning. After about 30 minutes of going back and forth we just had to wait until the morning.  The morning came and we explained the situation to the morning receptionists who unfortunately did not help at all and just told us to send a message on the TUI app. Once the TUI rep was involved at the hotel, a lost item form was logged online and we were send automated updates. It took 3 days for TUI to explain they had spoke to the driver of the bus who said the case was not on the minibus. Unfortunately this was very hard to believe as we saw the suitcase loaded onto the vehicle at the airport so the only explanation could be that the suitcase was stolen. TUI continued the search for 7 days and then sent an automated email to say the suitcase could not be located and to claim through travel insurance. This was so upsetting to us as the suitcase contained a lot of valuable and sentimental items. The first 3 days of our honeymoon was spent indoors speaking back and forth with a TUI rep who herself was helpful but unfortunately she had her hands tied with TUI processes and could only really log a complaint via the system. The TUI Magic Life hotel itself was absolutely dreadful. It is advertised as a 5 star luxury hotel with Rixos branding and i would not even rate this hotel a 2 star. I cannot believe this hotel is branded with Rixos, it is so far beneath the Rixos standards and is an insult to the company. The food and hygiene standards were absolutely appalling. The food was the worst I have ever experienced in a hotel with such limited choice and poor quality of food. I mean they didn’t even have a toaster at breakfast time… Myself and my wife both lived on chips for 3 days as that is all we could tolerate. We tried the a la carte restaurants to see if they were any better and they were unfortunately just as bad with limited choice and very poor quality. The hygiene in the restaurants was appalling. Now, I have visited turkey around 6 times now and I am well aware of the stray cats, however I have never seen so many than at this hotel and they were welcomed in and around the restaurant. On our last night we had to wait around 20 minutes for a table to be free, then once we were seated and went to get our food, we came back to a cat sat on our table, drinking from my glass of water and sitting on my cutlery. We therefore again had to wait another 20 minutes for another table by that time our food was stone cold and couldn’t be eaten. This was the final straw for us, we could not spend 2 weeks in this hell hole and we decided by any means necessary to change hotels. We asked TUI for assistance with this as they had completely missold this hotel to us. Again we were just logged through online systems, and given a very impersonal service and offered a hotel transfer which cost us an extra £2500 pound. This included an admin fee and cancellation fee which is absolutely disgusting considering this was through fault of TUI and not ourselves. We had already paid over £4000 for this holiday so we were absolutely devastated to have to pay this crazy additional sum of money for a situation that was completely not our fault. We really did not want to pay this additional money but after no support from TUI, we were left with no choice, it was either pay they extra money to move or we could have been on the next flight home. The staff in the hotel were made aware of our issues, however they did not try to accommodate at all and were not in the slightest bit interested in supporting us or making any alternative food arrangements etc. We were offered a spaghetti bolognaise… but who wants to pay over £4000 for a holiday to eat that every single night for two weeks! We were not able to speak to hotel management to have our complaint escalated despite asking and on the day we checked out no apology was made at all and we were just greeted by a rude receptionist saying “thank you, have a nice holiday, bye”. No acknowledgement of their poor service or hospitality what so ever. This hotel was honestly one of the worst experiences I have ever had, they seemed to treat the English completely different to other nationalities and did not welcome us at all. It was a complete waste of our first 3 days of our honeymoon. The hotel/reception staff also have some form of dodgy agreement with the local taxi firm, they told us it would be over 100 euros for a standard taxi to our next hotel, but we priced up an amazing luxurious taxi called ella taxis that was only 56 euros and its was absolutely amazing service. We have seen other reviews that have mentioned this scam since returning home so please beware of this. Both myself and my wife have been loyal customers of TUI for many many years however, this is the last time we will ever book a holiday with this company due to the lack of personal service and the fact they portray hotels to be so luxurious when they are so far from this. A real shame.

Me and family stayed one week here in the entry level room category. This hotel was one of the most luxurious and modern resorts in Kemer when it was originally opened. We had of course high expectations because of the brand association with Rixos which operates several five star hotels both in Turkey and the UAE. Pros The hotel is well maintained and all public areas are clean and feel fresh. In addition the rooms were clean and cleaned daily. The women who worked at housekeeping were friendly and said good morning to us every morning when they saw us going for breakfast. The buffet restaurant and the bars offer lots of opinions. We dinned at the buffet restaurant everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The selection of dishes changed frequently and the hotel bar which is open 24 hours a day has lots of non alcoholic options. The beach area and the pools were also clean and well maintained. The hotel also offers a spa which was included in our room rate. The spa offers both a Finnish sauna as well as of course a Turkish hammam Cons The concierge desk was unhelpful and didn’t seem to want to help us with reservations to the ala carte restaurants and because of this we decided to just eat at the buffet restaurant. Overall this is a good hotel and I would consider staying here if I’d visit Kemer again!

Just returned home after 11 nights at the Tui Magic Beldibi. me and my friend had a wonderful time. Hotel clean, food was very nice and plenty to choose from, from breakfast right through to dinner. Staff are brilliant friendly and polite. Entertainment team were amazing and the shows and activities were very proffesional and enjoyable . And they work so hard to make sure everyone is having a good time without being to pushy, so thank you Daphne,Oge,Gabriel,Melany Tabuso and the rest of you. Normal shops outside hotel selling different things. Visted land of legends free with hotel and went on A boat trip all very good. From Lisa & Lisa 🇬🇧

Be careful what you eat

My first hotel review. All customer facing staff were all wonderful. Be very very careful what you eat. We left on Friday just gone but spent the last two days in the room. We are still not well 5-6 days after coming down with that ever this is. Hygiene standards are not up to scratch.

We enjoyed staying at the hotel and were surprised by the negative reviews. First, it is not, as someone suggested, a 'party hotel.' There is a daily entertainment programme and music is noisy by the pool during water aerobics and cycling (water). At all other times, it is at a normal level. Anyway, plenty of quiet spaces in the hotel's extensive grounds so do not understand the fuss. There is a daily show followed by a DJ and my husband and I partied every night (we are 60 plus). All staff is incredibly polite and the entertainers are fun and professional, encouraging you to dance and take part. Special mention to Roberta, whose singing we very much enjoyed. The clientele is predominantly German as TUI is a German company. There were all different ages -from young couples to oldies like us. Absolutely no loud behaviour. Plenty of sun loungers and a huge pool with plenty of spaces to swim or play games. Plenty to do -archery, table tennis, fitness, etc. Small private beach with stones as you enter the water so special shoes are required. The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. We were entitled to one al carte meal and we chose a Turkish restaurant, which was great. Cocktails were fine and rose wine was very drinkable. There are a couple of things that would make the hotel even better: Breakfast and lunch -great. Lunch plenty of fresh salads and grilled meats plus other dishes that we did not sample. Dinner - whilst plenty of choices, the food itself was not mediocre. Did not bother us as we prefer having a good time around the pool etc to focusing on food. The hotel was slow to clear tables outside and there was no system of letting customers know that a table was free but perhaps had not been cleared as yet. It was difficult to know whether someone just left to go to a buffet or left the table entirely. Overall -we had a fabulous time and were very sad to leave.
