Not "5 Star" quality! Surprised!

Very surprised that a facility such as this, and with these prices, was NOT "5 Star" quality! Construction noise is our room on Saturday and Sunday is unacceptable, especially without being advised or discounted! The grounds where construction was not taking place were poorly maintained! Again, NOT "5 Star" quality! Lakeview room with dirty window, NOT acceptable! Otherwise, Lake Lousie is gorgeous!!!

Upon first glance, this is no ordinary hotel. From being welcomed upon entry, dining, concierge services, the staff reflect well the standards and level of service you would expect. But the opportunity to relax and enjoy spectacular views of water, mountains and snow from the comfort of your dining table or outdoor patio, drive home the feeling that you are staying at a place that is truly special. Throughout our stay we were treated with impressive courtesies and helpfulness from all staff we encountered. Employees seemed genuinely happy to be associated with the hotel. It all made for a very hospitable environment to experience. A unique way to slow down and get connected with what is important in life.

This hotel has everything that should make it 5* but weirdly falls down in unexpected places. This hotel is stunning, the views are breathtaking and the fact that you just "walk" out to the lake is amazing. I loved the design, there are loads of good restaurants and it has a lot of interesting shops. However in the attempt to keep certain areas exclusive to hotel guests they have arranged funiture as obstacles. When you have mobility issues those extra few steps can make quite the difference, I would have not enjoyed maneuvering a wheelchair at some points. In some of the bars there didn't seem to be enough staff for the guests. Overall while a stunning hotel it wasn't as welcoming as I hoped. We did enjoy our stay every much but unlike other Fairmonts we wouldn't be looking to return.

Downgraded When The Hotel Made An Error

I was staying with my elderly father, taking him on one last trip to forge memories. Upon arrival at the Fairmont Chateau at Lake Louise, we found our room had one bed. I love my father very much, but I don't wish to share a bed with him! Our itinerary clearly showed we were to have two beds. I asked for a new room, and the best they could provide was a downgrade to a very poky twin single bed room that we could barely move around in. I was feeling very upset, so I went back to complain, and was taken to see the manager. He told me there were no available rooms for both nights we were staying there. I said we would stay in the downgraded room the first night if a room of the standard we had paid for could be found for us for the second night. This was done, however I am not happy at all. Rather than providing a downgrade when made aware of the error, we should have been offered a free upgrade. Poorly done, Fairmont. Poorly done.

I have wanted to stay at The Chateau Lake Louise for many years and 2024 my dream came true. Recently my husband and I travelled to Canada and stayed at The Chateau - stunningly amazing. We had the most wonderful time and thank the fabulous staff for helping to make our stay so special. We were upgraded to a suite and had direct views of the Lake We could not take our eye of it. The hotel is gorgeous and the beauty of the lake takes your breath away. This was my favourite stay of anywhere in the world. The best way to enjoy the Lake and the surrounds is to stay a few days here. The hotel has lots of activities and nothing is too hard for them to arrange. The food in all the restaurants was delicious and special. Treat yourself and stay here. You won’t regret it.
