Magical Experience!

This was one of the best hotel stays I've ever experienced - better than I could have dreamt! Steph at the front desk was wonderful checking us in. The hotel upgraded our hotel room to a 5th floor ocean view suite since we were celebrating our honeymoon/one year anniversary - thank you! The views from the room were stunning and the suite with all the furnishings and comforts of home were perfect! The Fairmont Orchid is such a beautiful property. We saw sea turtles sun bathing and swimming in the ocean each day. Birds were abundant and provided the perfect musical backdrop to our Hawaiian vacation. It's a short five minute walk to the historic petroglyph park on The Big Island. There's also a great beach walk that lasts for miles along the other resorts in the area. After walking around the other nearby resorts, I can say with all certainty that the Fairmont Orchid is the prettiest around! In terms of dining, we had dinner at Binchotan twice and dinner at Brown's Beach House twice (Bruce was one of the best servers I've ever had, and I've worked in the industry for 20+ years - he's the best! Please send him our thanks for an incredible dinner on our last night!). We had lunch at the Pool one afternoon (great service throughout our stay, with an honorable mention of Sophi, who was great!) and grabbed lunch from Brown's Deli twice. We had drinks all over the hotel. I highly recommend going to Launa Lounge to play some pool and have a cocktail while they are lighting the tiki torches at sundown. The live musicians in this area are also FANTASTIC - they certainly set the mood for the hotel's location! Also be sure to check out the tiki bar by the beach. I don't know the bartender's name unfortunately (Derek?/Dallas fan), but he's a gentleman in his 40s I believe and he was so friendly and welcoming to all the guests there. So many people came up to order a quick drink, but ended up sitting down just to socialize with him and the other guests around the bar. We all drank more because we just wanted to hang out with him - lol! I also recommend getting a massage at the hotel's Spa Without Walls! I had an incredible deep tissue massage from Bruce by the waterfalls. This was so relaxing and just what I needed to get rid of the last remnants of stress from back home while on vacation. In terms of activities, we loved getting the Activity Package at the start of our stay so we could take out the Kayaks each day and use the hotel's floaties on the lagoon. They also offer paddle boards and snorkeling, as well as some other things. So much fun! My only recommendation for the hotel would be to include wines by the bottle for sale at the deli, especially since room service isn't offered during the afternoon. Sometimes it's nice to enjoy some wine on your hotel room's balcony, but this is not a big deal at all. Thank you to the entire staff at the Fairmont Orchid for making our honeymoon/one year anniversary a trip to remember!

Wonderful snorkel lagoon and tidal pools very good food

We split a Hawaiian vacation between Fairmount Orchid and Four Seasons Maui and liked this better. Enough said. We saw plenty of reef fish, turtles and a Manta in the snorkel lagoon with free equipment provided. Didn't tire of menu options or sunsets at the restaurant. Tidal pools galore to explore

Gold Floor amenities read about on website were true to form, and the property in summary was resort quality (The Bachlorette filmed a segment while we were there; a wedding took place, as well). We used the Spa, the pool, the shops, hiked the shoreline trails, ate at 2 restaurants (Binchohan Yes! ; Brown’s Beach “meh” and too expensive for menu items are offered), and did not leave the resort as much as we thought we would. Yet we always knew/felt we were in Hawai’i.

A Lovely Resort!

Loved our week at the Fairmont Orchid! The resort is beautiful and inviting. We found our room to be spacious and well maintained. The breakfast buffet was generous and served on a lovely patio. The resort had high occupancy but we never felt crowded or overwhelmed by too many travelers. Guests included young families, middle age couples, and seniors resulting in a nice mix of travelers.

Walking into the hotel lobby of the Fairmont Orchid, was like walking on to a movie set. It was absolutely beautiful. From the first day the entire staff was so attentive and made sure we were all comfortable. They were especially accommodating to my elderly parents with mobility issues. We stayed in the south tower, 1 ocean view and one garden view room. The rooms are large and very nice, comfortable beds and pillows. Nice bathrooms with the nicest complimentary lotion, shampoo and conditioner. My mom liked the lotion so much I bought her some from the Fairmont Store (online). The food in every restaurant that we ate in was incredible. There are 5 restaurants and a deli. The resort grounds are so beautiful with so many types of birds and flowers we have never seen before. Can't say enough about the service throughout the resort, from the front desk to the valet parking staff, to the servers, and housekeeping. Special thanks to Mgr Eden Haber. She was so caring and considerate and went above and beyond when a couple things went awry, she made them right with little gifts, and followed up with us to make sure we were ok. Another person we'd like to thank is Shannel the concierge. She helped us to arrange a spectacular helicopter ride, as well as answering my 100 questions, before we even got there. My only complaint is that we weren't able to stay longer.
