Beautiful hotel with outstanding beach and views. Wonderful staff and service. We spent a wonderful week at the Fairmont Royal Pavilion. The room was immaculate and well appointed. The beach and water were breathtaking, the staff was wonderful and accommodating to every need and request. The service on the beach was great, chairs were always set up for you, towels and water were always available in addition to wait staff that catered to you on the beach. We had a few extras including an outstanding couples massage and champagne and bites on our terrace. The hotel arranged car service for our trip to the Wildlife reserve. Overall, the beautiful hotel and beach were not overrated at 5 stars. The staff and service were also top notch. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to making it an annual trip!

I am writing to share my experience during my recent stay at The Fairmont, which unfortunately did not meet the high standards I have come to expect from your esteemed brand. My fiancé and I chose The Fairmont in anticipation of our upcoming wedding in Barbados in June, hoping to experience the property before bringing 150 of our guests. Upon our arrival at 4 PM for check-in, we were warmly greeted with a welcome drink, which we appreciated. However, we soon learned that our room was not ready and would be available in approximately 20 minutes. We were then escorted to a restaurant for a snack while we waited. Unfortunately, after an hour and a half with no further communication, I inquired at the front desk and was informed that our room was indeed ready, but no one had come to notify us. As a gesture of goodwill, we were promised a late check-out and that someone would come to speak with us regarding the inconvenience. Regrettably, no one followed up on that promise. On the day of our check-out, we were still expected to vacate by 11 AM, which added to our disappointment. Additionally, the overall service throughout our stay felt noticeably slow, which is not the level of service I associate with The Fairmont. Given our experience, we are reconsidering our plans for a room block at The Fairmont for our wedding guests. I felt it was important to communicate our concerns, as we genuinely wanted to enjoy our stay and be able to recommend The Fairmont to our friends and family. On the other hand, the hotel room was beautiful and it had the most amazing view. I loved every second waiting up to the water.

This hotel is at best 3 star. The staff are ambivalent and the hotel old and tired. The food especially the breakfast is a disgrace. The beach is tatty - bottles and glasses were left and not cleaned away from the night before. The deck beds old and rusty- simply not loved. When we arrived the welcome was poor and they were more interested in our credit card than a welcome drink.We booked this hotel in May 2024 and a week before we went the hotel told us there was minor building work. When we arrived it was major work blue tarpaulin up over the building right next to the pool and bar area. Men walking past holding ladders and building materials and working from 8am to 8pm. To add insult when we arrived we were advised that only one restaurant was open - we ate at the beach restaurant and can best describe the food as basic. We ordered room service - it never came. There was no fridge in the room just a cooler draw! The staff looked pissed off all the time - to make matters worse when I went for a shower the water was freezing due to a plumbing issue. We contacted our rep who was brilliant and moved us to another Hotel. What ever you do don’t book this place. It is poor quality - staff don’t care and the beach was not as it is in the pictures - it needs new management and renovation throughout especially the main restaurant the dated dirty cooler room for food service at breakfast and the dirty reception area with moss and ingrown dirt on the tiles and fountain. Travel companies putting this in their brochure have clearly not visited it for years. I know the review sounds harsh but trust me we were do upset when we arrived we don’t want anyone else to have a disappointing holiday.

We came for a 7 night break as a couple to reenergise ahead of the gloomy winter we’re expecting in the UK this year. First off the welcome at the airport: I have never been greeted in such a courteous friendly way disembarking before: we truly felt like VIPs and the immigration and baggage collection was as smooth as can be. Next our transfer. Our driver Romeo was lovely and gave us a mini breakdown of Barbados. Transfer took about 40 mins in total and we were at our hotel. The hotel itself has echoes of colonial architecture and was spotless. We were met by Keisha who has been consistently wonderful throughout our stay. A run punch and a bit of form filling later and we were shown to our room: 322. A 3rd floor spacious room looking onto the turquoise sea - what a view! We grabbed a light bite and went straight to sleep. Breakfast the following morning was buffet style and superb. For the first 3 days the hotel was fairly quiet however it did start to fill up as the week wore on and there was a bit of a wait for breakfast. We hired a car and travelled out to Speightstown and Holetown. There’s a great supermarket called Massy’s which even stocked Waitrose goods! Harrison’s cave is a must-see - truly breathtaking. We also visited Huntes garden which was splendid (see separate review) The general managers cocktail party on a Wednesday was great and he truly is a great guy, who you can tell cares about guests and staff alike. The beach is stunning but the ultimate thing that makes it all work so perfectly is the people. Brothers and sisters of Barbados, thank you for having us. We will be back soon

All I can say is wow! My wonderful husband surprised me for my 50th birthday to a 4 night stay at this magnificent hotel. The service was started perfectly with the fast track through customs upon arrival, Michael was onsite quickly to drive us to the hotel. We arrived and sat in the comfortable reception whilst we booked in and Dawn took us to our beach front room. The rooms all have the most amazing and beautiful views of the beach and ocean and at night you are witness to the most spectacular sun sets. The staff cant do enough for you. You have the cheeky Shane whose smile and personality is infectious. Simon around the pool is first class. We were there when it was quiet but he reserved the beds around the pool for us and came to say goodbye when we were at lunch on our last day - Simon we wish you all the very best of luck with your future plans. The restaurant staff are all so lovely and polite and Nicole does and amazing job checking in to see if you need anything. Kyle behind the bar particularly likes an chat about the English football team and clubs - he is a Chelsea fan! Glyne helped us loads in reception and with Michael's input, they went above and beyond for us. Hurricane Beryl hit in July and reclaimed a lot of the sand but it's still beautiful. Derrick in the sports club gave fantastic tuition and we managed to paddle board - thank you! Thank you to ALL the team at the Fairmont - each and everyone of you do an amazing job.
