A lovely family-friendly hotel with fun and thoughtful details

I, my husband and my two kids (ages 3 and 5) just had a wonderful 3-night stay at this resort. From the moment we arrived, Aifen and her team, especially Nikki, did everything to make us feel super welcome, including: a speedy check-in process, fruits/ pastries in the room, extra cot ready etc. After a 3 hour drive with kids, this was so appreciated. The rooms were so lovely, with the “Little Prince” theme. We appreciated all the thoughtful artwork, toys, and small amenities for kids — slippers, robes, body wash etc. But the part that really blew us away were the children’s activities: the little train, the well-designed water park, the bubble and foam party, the indoor playground, evening performances for the whole family, arts&crafts and even go-karting! Even the buffets had special kids sections and special plates and utensils for little ones. To say my kids were delighted is an understatement. Nikki in guest relations is a gem—she was so responsive to all our needs, answering questions via WeChat within a few minutes. We also had the pleasure of running into the GM a few times; Aifen was so warm and lovely and she remembered my children’s names after just one quick introduction—so sweet! Like all Sofitels, we expected a wonderful stay and we weren't disappointed. It was the loveliest family vacation. We look forward to returning to Sofitel Sanya. Merci Beaucoup!

afer covid we spend over 1,5 month at Hainan, in Sofitel Haikou , Raffles Hainan, Pullman Yalong Bay. Why not in Sofitel Leeman where we was so happy before covid - becouse me as Platinum member Accor Plus and my friend Diamond member Accor Plus send over 6 emails to reservations team and GM of this hotel and we do not get any answer, if two loyal Platinum and Diamond many years members of Accor Plus can not get any - positive or negative answer - so what can expect ordinary person? this is not Sofitel level and it is not high standard who was there before

Dear 19mateuszw, I am so sorry that you decided not to visit Sofitel Sanya during your recent stay in Hainan. You (your travel companion actually) emailed our Hotel Manager on 13 February at 20:43 and he responded the next day at 13:48. You then sent an email to Reservations on 19 February at 11:59 which was responded to by our Reservations Supervisor the same day at 19:06. Both our emails show as sent and we did not receive any "bounce back" message. As we never received any response to either email, we assumed you were not interested in our preferential rate offer. I do hope you will consider us for a future visit, as you had such a great time on your first visit. Kind regards, Marc de Beer General Manager

Beautiful resort! concierge guy Kroeger was super friendly and helped us with everything. -He also speaks English which was great! So make sure to find him😎 In all, the staff and service was superb.

Quiet and Luxurious place

It was not used to the weather in Hainan though , humid and hot, we do not have much time to be adapted to the climate. The room allocated was 11th Floor of Gold tower, garden view, although it is too high to see the garden, we are very much satisfied with the room because of its tidiness. During the stay for 3nights, we had two sunny days that may make us enjoy the spacious outdoor pools. Meals in restuarants and room services are very good. Except for trsnsportation, I can give here 5 points out of 5 . 아주 좋았던 호텔이었습니다. 모든 것이 갖추어진 곳에 다만 다소 불친절한 직원이 있었지만 대체로 만족스러운 호텔 이었습니다.

Sadly, this experience did not live up to expectations. We picked Sofitel because it generally has a great reputation, but this resort is Sofitel in name only. It wasn’t their fault that Covid made it stressful or that it has seriously hurt the entire island, but what made it worse was the massive language barrier, being ignored by hotel staff, constant confusion and communication issues, a very mediocre breakfast buffet, no swim up bar service, and no good restaurant options (the Thai place is mediocre at best). It quickly became apparent that their seems to be no leadership here, no GM, and no quality control. All in all, I left feeling extremely disappointed, wouldn’t stay there again, and would certainly not recommend it to any friends.
