Stayed here for 20 nights, due to a tragic and unfortunate family death. While the establishment is slightly in need of updating, the place was clean, views very comforting and staff were always friendly, accommodating and helpful. It was a lovely place to come back to, after heartbreaking days. While the weather wasn't on our side, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Food at the restaurant (both breakfast and dinner), was 5/5. A few minute stroll, along the scenic marina boardwalk, to the local Sails Hotel, Lighthouse Seafood & The Deck Steakhouse (which has the best food also), was always pleasant. Beds very comfy and loved having a mini kitchenette, our own laundry and wonderful big spa bath. Thoroughly enjoyed our view from both balconies, which we enjoyed each day. Definitely worth a stay. It helped our soul.

I went during Easter long weekend for 5 nights, was informed upon arrival that there will be no room service for this period due to public holidays....... used all my towels, coffee, sugar, milk etc by the 3rd night. Was told to go to reception to ask for more items as needed. Had to remove my rubbish from the room and replenish garbage bags... virtually had to do my own room service. I understand that they charge extra for public holidays and also due to it being school holidays, they charge more per night yet not willing to pay their staff extra rates due to public holidays. The room itself was very nice, bed comfortable, nice verandah but the lack of room service let it down.

We stayed at the Mantra Mackay to celebrate our 47th wedding anniversary during the week, in a King Spa Suite. The apartment was very roomy and had a view of the Mackay Marina from the bedroom. The bathroom was also large, incorporating a Spa tub, walk in shower, large vanity and a washing machine and dryer. In comparison the kitchen was quite small with not much bench space. The fridge was a bit bigger than a bar fridge and had a freezer compartment but only one shelf in the main fridge. The lounge room had two oversized comfy armchairs, a bench style large table and a small dinning table with two chairs, and a medium size TV. The bedroom had a king sized bed that was very comfortable and there was another medium size TV on one wall under which was another bench style table presumably to hold overnight bags. A decent size built in wardrobe with a dozen wooden coat hangers inside plus an ironing board and iron. Good size bedside tables with easy to access lamps completed the room. Plenty of room to move unlike some Mantras we have stayed in that have large beds and no room for anything else in the room. There was a small balcony outside the bedroom but as it was very windy when we were there we didn’t sit outside on the plastic chairs provided. We also had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant down stairs and enjoyed our meals. The staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs. Thank you Mantra for a lovely mid week getaway.

Great location for the work I had to do. Clean and comfortable. Rooms are of a good size and the mini kitchen was great as I do get tired of eating out. WiFi was good. Bathroom starting to show its age. Pity it rained the time I was there, or we could have made use of the facilities available.

How Mantra and the Accor Senior management team accept this hotel's presentation is beyond me. Does an area manager not walk through and demand changes? The staff were fine - courteous, helpful and I can't fault them. However the hotel itself needs work on it now. So tired, TV's on desks that don't face the bed, handwritten signs around the place, laundry dumped in corridors. It is by far the most disappointing Mantra I have stayed in from an amenities / physical point.
