Mercure Rockhampton 4성

This hotel is in a great location and walkable to the CBD and cafes and restaurants in the area. The room was a little tired but very clean.

We stayed after our trip in the Queensland outback. Reception we just arrived from Clermont by car at 14-00 hour. We were told the room would take a little while before being ready, so we went for a walk in the CBD, and someone would call us on mobile came back at 15.30 to reception but nobody called us! Got the room key and went to our room which was adequate for a Mercure property but needs a lift . We ate in the restaurant and had breakfast service was good, and food came as per menu description. On last evening of Sunday, we went out and put the signage on door handle our room wasn't refresh so we spoke to a housekeeper, but they were too busy and finally at 15. 30 hours caught the eye of person that is wait staff doing rooms, we gave our rubbish and ask for new bathroom towels but no explanation why the room was done. Overall, the stay was good, dining room and kitchen excellent, room when we arrived aircon not working properly but after several the Head Houskeeper fix it, very professional. Meet and greet at reception needs for staff training but most of stay was enjoyable and location is great.

What a fantastic overnight stay! We were delighted to use our complimentary Accor Plus night and even more so to be pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a spacious King Suite, especially given the hotel was fully booked. While the room was a little dated, it was exceptionally comfortable with all the extra space. Our dining experiences were equally impressive. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and the service was consistently excellent. A special mention goes to Jamie in the Dining Room, who was truly an asset and made our meals even more enjoyable!

I was apprehensive after reading a fair few bad reviews but my friends and I were pleasantly suprised at our recent stay. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, buffet breakfast was great, service was lovely! The bathroom was dated but otherwise everything was great!

This hotel needs a complete refurb to bring it into the 21st century. Not just newer carpets. I have some mobility limitations but none that have caused me to feel unsafe or at a disadvantage before. ie: A handle is in the bath tub, as the shower is at the far end of the tub. Getting in is reasonably simple but getting out safely is another matter. Needs an extra rail. They know there is an issue as they supply a non slip old style rubber mat and put up a warning. None of this works if you are short and have knee issues, At the time of booking we paid in advance for breakfast IN the hotel. To discover on arrival the restaurant isn't actually in the hotel, its next door up at least one level and has no lift for those who can not use stairs. NOTE: There is internal access via a lift and covered walkway if accompanied by a staff member (apparently the walkway can be unsafe, hence being accompanied) but that is not available if there is a conference on in the hotel - Gee we can inconvenience our guests who in good faith have pre-paid, but not the conference visitors! We ended up using uber eats for dinner and leaving early to find breakfast in a cafe in Rockampton. No apology and no offer of a refund for the not accessible breakfast. Admit we didn't ask for one, but that is the hospitable thing to do when they advertise and its only available to some. The online photos are out of date by years. The pool looks bright blue and stunning, but its so old the blue is now 50+-% black where I assume the paint has worn away. The only positive? We had only booked for one night
