Night Terror - Negligent & Absent Service

I write this, still shaking, after an absolutely abysmal experience at Bendigo Schaller. I was awakened at around 3:40am on 24 July by someone trying my room door incessantly for over a minute. That was frightening enough. When I challenged them, they said they had the key for the room and the card was clearly marked as the same room number as I was in. Well, what had been a relatively pleasant stay and reasonable sleep suddenly malformed into a very uncomfortable and shaken awakening. The only thought that crosses my mind is how much worse it would have been were it my wife - or any woman - staying here alone. I tried phoning the out of hours number at reception, which simply went to voicemail. There are some serious questions about diligence here, if someone had indeed been given a key marked with the same room number. And there are further questions about responsibility when the out of hours number is left to go to voicemail. It's now 40 minutes on from when I made that call and as yet there has been no attempt to respond. Caveat emptor.

stayed here few times now due to family in Bendigo. we love the coffee here the girls are very nice also in cafe area . had breakfast most morning eggs benny every single time .. angus beef burger for room service is handsdown the bomb yummmmmm.

Great location, especially if you need health services. Also central to the city and sights. Free car parking available. Friendly staff. Great art works throughout the hotel which brighten the mood. Whilst the rooms are small they have everything you need. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and the shower was hot.

A gem of a hotel. Themed around an artist whose works are dotted in and around the hotel particularly on the ground floor. I know some people would be critical of the size of the rooms but they are extremely well appointed, beautifully decorated with the space used cleverly and creatively. For example, hanging on the inside of the door is what looks like large paint drips (in keeping with the "arty" nature of the hotel) but what are in fact coat hangers. The bathroom was clean, bright and well laid out. Breakfast was very reasonably priced and as good as you would want. Parking (although in the open) was at no cost and right outside the front door. The 2 receptionists , Anna in the evening and an Asian lady in the morning were friendly, efficient and a credit to what an outstanding hotel. We will certainly be back.

Hôtel à la décoration chargée mais originale, situé pas loin du centre de Bendigo. L’accueil est agréable et professionnel. Chambre propre mais vraiment minuscule, le lit est mou et petit pour 2 personnes. Douche avec bonne pression. Petit déjeuner correct.
