제가 처음으로 부모님을 모시고 떠난 여행이었습니다. 아버지께서 너무 즐거우셨는지, 어린 시절이 떠오르셨는지 수영장에서 다이빙을 시도하셨습니다. 물론 다이빙이 금지된 행동이라는 점은 저희도 충분히 알고 있고, 잘못된 행동이었다는 점 역시 인지하고 있습니다. 다만 해당 직원분께서 NO DIVING! 이라고 큰 소리로 윽박지르듯 말씀하셔서 매우 당황스러웠습니다. 이미 상황은 발생한 뒤였고, 차분하게 다이빙이 금지되어 있으니 앞으로 주의해달라고 안내해주셨어도 충분히 이해하고 따를 수 있었을 상황이었다고 생각합니다. 영어 못하는 아버지가 쏘리 하시면서 말씀하시는데도 화난말투로 계속 노 다이빙 외치시던데 5성급 호텔 직원이 그렇게 고객에게 무안을 주는게 맞는건가하는 생각이 들었습니다. 그리곤 뒤돌아 서양 고객에게 매우 친절한 말투로 이야기 하시는걸보니 황당하더라구요 이 일 이전에도 같은 직원분의 태도로 인해 불편함을 느낀 적이 있습니다. 탈의실에 들어서자마자 슬리퍼로 갈아 신으라고 말씀하셨는데, 당시 저희는 이미 신발장에 신발을 넣으려던 상황이었습니다. 처음에는 안내를 도와주시려는 것으로 생각해 감사 인사를 드렸습니다. 이후에도 계속 따라오시며 락커와 탈의실 위치를 설명해주셨고, 저희는 그에 대해 다시 한 번 웃으며 감사 인사를 드렸습니다. 그런데 옷을 갈아입으려는 상황에서도 자리를 뜨지 않으시고, 저에게 처음 방문했냐고 비꼬는 듯한 어투로 말씀하셨습니다. 처음왔나요? 라는 질문이 비꼬는건가라고 느껴진건 처음이였습니다. 이후 수영장에서 아버지께 소리를 지르는 모습을 보고, 단순한 안내가 아니라 저희를 무시하는 태도라는 생각이 분명해졌습니다. 특히 서양인 고객을 대하는 태도와는 확연히 다른 모습이었고, 목소리 톤조차 달랐습니다. 어린아이에게도 그렇게 소리 지르지는 않을 겁니다. 규정 안내를 핑계로 고객에게 모욕감을 주는 행동은 도저히 납득할 수 없습니다. 서양인 고객에게 보여준 상냥한 태도와 저희 가족, 특히 연세가 있으신 아버지에게 소리를 지른 공격적인 태도의 극명한 차이는 누가 봐도 명백한 차별이었습니다.

I sincerely appreciate your honesty, and I am truly sorry that parts of your experience did not reflect the level of care and respect we strive to provide. Please accept my deepest apologies for the manner in which our pool associate addressed your father. While safety rules must be observed, they should always be communicated calmly and respectfully. I am especially concerned by your perception of differing attitudes toward guests, and I assure you this matter has been taken very seriously. Your comments have been shared with our leadership team, and we are reinforcing service training to ensure all guests are treated with equal warmth and dignity. Regarding the room cleaning, our internal review shows that the Do Not Disturb indicator remained activated from 1:35 am until 2:30 pm. Once it was turned off, our team attended to the room promptly at 4:50 pm. While this may have occurred unintentionally, we fully understand your frustration and regret the inconvenience caused. I am also sorry that our breakfast offering and welcome benefits did not meet your expectations. Your feedback is invaluable as we continue to review and improve these areas. It was a pleasure to know that our concierge and bell desk team left a positive impression, and I thank you for recognizing them.
