Not worth the cost. Very average experience for a very expensive hotel. Lack of welcome from staff and service standards are quite low. Will not be returning to this property even though I regularly stay at hotels in the chain. No priority welcome, no platinum level benefits given and the club lounge was under staffed and lacked any kind of service.

This is a great property that is well furnished with great facilities. Unfortunately, it's getting very localized. There are only 4 English TV stations and 3 of them were blocked. I hope you like HBO, or I hope you dont watch TV. The room service and other facilities menus are only scanned by WeChat and there is no English version. I realize that foreigners are traveling less in China but that wont last long. I hope they can get their act together. Also didn't help that they gave me someone else's pants when I had them cleaned. Luckily I saw that in time and they were able to find my pants. And the bar closes at 7PM. What kind of bar closes at 7PM? That's when bars are supposed to open. I hope this is a temporary COVID thing because it makes no sense.

Note that as you perfectly mentioned, some of the issues encountered are indeed related to Covid-19 , and it is of course temporary. Based on your feedback and lately guests communication we have consequently adjusted our operational hours for our Lobby Bar starting from this week. On another hand, the trend has been on reducing as much as possible printed materials in both rooms and public areas. This is one part of a larger Accor safety program (“AllSafe”) to provide to our guests with a safe environment. We also understand that proper communication must be guaranteed, and this is why we have some English menus available when required. What a superb hotel! We arrived quite early after a long flight and the wonderful Peter at reception helped us check in early so we could go back to sleep. He really was a life saver! The room is really well designed and very modern. The bed was super comfy, made it hard to get out of bed each day! Every staff member we interacted with was very professional and polite, especially the bell team with transport advice and helping us with taxi's. Overall great stay, can't recommend it enough.

Not what we were expecting from Sofitel when we checked in. Our flight into Beijing was early in the morning, hence we arrived at the hotel in the morning prior check in hours. From our previous Sofitel experiences, adjustments can usually be made for us to check in earlier. Our original booking was on the executive floor and we were told upon arrival not much could be done for immediate check in unless we paid 2000 RMB more per day to upgrade. We expressed our disappointment and asked a few times if this was the best arrangement they could give for immediate check in. They told us all rooms are booked despite the off peak season which baffles us. We waited at the bar and was told shortly after there is a room that is available with another slightly cheaper upgrade. It baffles me if it is really full occupancy. Other than this, Iris from the housekeeping service is good. She saw that our daughter loves drawing and left a few pieces of A4 paper for her to write and draw on. We will like to commend her for her thoughtfulness. Aside from that, the lifeguard at the swimming pool (Liu Wei) is also very thoughtful as he offered a floating device to my daughter learning to swim.

I was upgraded to a Jr.Suite thanks to my status at Accord, wonderful room and views. Went for dinner at the Chinese restaurant, it was empty but yet two dishes out of the 3 ordered where not available. We then went to the Bistro, the meat ordered was excellent but we had to eat while they where cleaning the premises, with the noise of the machines. A manager noticed and asked the personnel to stop. Ordered a hotel limo for airport transfer and ended-up in an Uber paid by the Concierge as they booked me the wrong day.... Good facilities, service needs a big improvement, staff was nevertheless nice and smiling.
