Sofitel Beijing Central

I am an Accor Platinum member. This is my first time staying at the sofitel Beijing Central Hotel. The room I booked was a Luxury Club Room. Though I am a Platinum member, I did not have room upgrade, any welcome amenities or even the welcome drink. On the next day, I asked the Reception why Unlike other sofitel, this hotel had no offer of any welcome treatments to the Platinum Member. As requested, the hotel arranged me a fruit plate and a welcome drink coupon. Welcome drinks were limited to soft drink, coffee or tea. Better than none During my stay, I note that almost all the hotel guests were the local Chinese people or from other Provinces, The restaurant was fully crowded for breakfast. The room was spacious and clean, bed comfortable. Afteralll, I was not fully satisfied with the Platinum member treatment without getting room upgrade. I therefore canceled another 3-night booking.I moved to Fairmont Hotel and my room got upgraded to a Junior Suite. Not only because of room upgrade, Fairmont is a higher class hotel and cost effective. Without doubt, Fairmont will definitely be my cup of tea upon my next visit to Beijing. During the couple of days in Sofitel, I dined in for breakfast and lunch. I would also like to mention in particular Jimmy Wang and Penny of the hotel restaurant and Liu Yi Chen of the Chinese Restaurant. I fully appreciate their excellent service. They were nice, helpful and professional. I should appreciate it if the hotel management would convey my thanks and regards to them

A pleasant stay here in Beijing Room was spacious and clean. Bed is comfortable. Bathtub is nice with running hot water The room is big. Have I mentioned that? Enormous Hotel staff are polite and courteous with prompt housekeeping. Thank you The pricing is very cheap as well for high Accor standard. Highly recommended for holidays or work trips in Beijing

I have stayed here multiple times for a 'staycation' averaging on 2/3 nights. The customer service from the staff at the hotel has always been a highlight. They made the check-in and check-out process efficient despite the extra work involved when having foreigners. The rooms are very impressive and spacious for city accommodation. Bath tub is the selling feature for me! The privilege to sit in the bath with a bottle of champagne looking out to the city skyline. Bliss! The Bed is very comfortable and selection of mood lighting is fantastic! There is also a JBL wireless speaker that was great when getting ready to go out. The minibar was inclusive of the price, so make sure to utilise that! Even ask for a top up, the housekeeping staff are more than happy to restock and bring Ice. Breakfast was impressive, a full international offering as well as some local dishes. Overall, you wont be disappointed in terms of service and location. I have stayed in many hotels in the city, i have returned to this one 6 times.

This was a great find, recently reconstructed hotel in good location (close to metro station, walkable distance from city center). Very stylish lobby and rooms, great details and super clean. Good restaurants, excellent breakfast (really excellent!), nice lobby bar. If anything negative, service at bar was a bit slow, and the air conditioning in the room blowed directly to the bed (bed itself was very comfortable). But overall one of the best stays in Asian cities! Made this already 2019 but review was in draft for some reason.
