Biggest complaint was regarding breakfast and check in. Breakfast was poor. Novotel breakfasts are generally worth their price tag. I left the breakfast room still hungry. There was limited choice for vegetarians and none of the hot dishes were labeled as suitable for vegetarian people. There was a small salad selection, no beans or pulses for protein and no cheese. As a result there was limited choices to get a balanced breakfast. Very very disappointing and not worth the additional cost. Secondly I only realized that upon arrival the executive lounge was closed. As such I went to the square restaurant instead. The food there was served cold. Again was not labeled as suitable for vegetarians and most contained some kind of meat. Finally the check in experience was not good. I prechecked in filling in all of the information days ahead and still was bothered to fill in another three forms upon arrival. These forms could have been pre filled in and just require my signature. As I normally stay at this hotel this is the first time I have had this problem checking in

got upgraded to a suite with fantastic view over the Legendale hotel. the lounge is perfect for seeing half of the city. staff very nice especially blair Xu. the food during the happy hour was very nice as well

Good location, easily reached by subway. Only minutes away from major attractions. Lots of eateries around. Hotel is good, comfortable room but a little dated. Club lounge is good. Staff pleasant and helpful. Wonderful stay.

Location was good. I asked for assistance several times on the shower water temperature. It was extreme hot and sudden extreme cold water and returned to hot again for several times. It was never managed in the Middle Temperature. I requested for Technician on the first day, it was sent to me but he did not even check on the thermostat which I told him could be the problem but instead he only verbally tell me to turned the tap to the max of the hot side and let it run like 10mins. I think its really not environment friendly. Wasting water. He did not even bother to check the thermostat even I suggested to him. For 5 days I stayed, I just accepted it. My girl was slightly burn on her head while washing her hair and no one dare to stand under the shower at all while bathing. Second was the Tour Desk or concierge service, a lady took my Request for my SUV Car to take me to the airport at 1pm on 24 Dec paid her RMB350. At 1pm, to my surprised when I approached her for my Transport, she told me she completely forgotten about it. Immediate she called for it and it only arrived 130pm. My flight is 430pm and it was very rush as the journey is far with some traffic holdback. How could this happened when I paid for the service and I booked it through her on the very same day in the morning at about 9am. I always stayed here each time I visit Beijing but I think this will be my very last. The last time was 2 years ago, I was not so satisfied as well. No response from the Hotel or Accor and in 2019 another disappointment. Even in such cold weather when I stepped outside the hotel door, there was a Bell boy standing there do not even bother to asked if we need a Taxi. I have to walked out to the street in such Cold weather to hail a Taxi myself. Unlike Pullman in Shanghai, the moment my feet set out at the door, the bell boy will jump and asked if I required a Taxi and called in one for me. Such a difference in behaviour.

spend five nights in the hotel, second time since my stay in last february, for five nights too. though the hotel has been constructed about sixty years ago, it is very convenient and the rooms are furnished very comfortable. the lobby is very spacious and looks great. i would recommend to book a room with an access to the lounge (free breakfast and dinner, very rich and tasty). the service is very good, the staff (especially the staff in the lounge) is very friendly and helpful. i got a huge corner-room (upgrade). i want to say „thank you“ to the staff again - and see you the next time.

A short walk from Forbidden City, good shopping mall close by and some really nice small restaurants to enjoy. Hidden gem is the Lounge at the hotel, top floor view to Forbidden City and mountains, great sunsets and very attentive staff. Will visit again.

Where do I start. As an Accor Gold member, I had emailed ahead to find out of a late check-out was possible due to my flight out of China being scheduled later in the day. I was told in very certain terms that I was not eligible to a late checkout. Another email that was sent thereafter was met with a similar response. When it finally came around to the stay itself, the room was dated and the carpet old. These are aspects that I can definitely deal with, having stayed at a range of hotels which also includes the good old Ibis range (which was heaps better than this). However what took the cake was the airconditioning that was functioning extremely poorly (I was told by maintenance that there was nothing wrong with the a/c) and a washroom sink that emanated the essence of a sewage pipe into the room (which I was also told was non-existent). It was not only until my roommate had pointed out that it was coming from the sink, that the maintenance person had a second look, murmured in agreement, ran the tap and left. The only silver lining was the short trip that I had in Beijing which meant that I did not have to suffer for all that long. Will definitely not return.

As this is unfortunately something we cannot handled: we contacted a 3rd Party to come & cleanse our piping system. Due to the outside temperature combined with humidity level: it might explain this situation. Also, this is correct there was no issue with the air conditioning system: but I understand you wanted to have it cooler than what it could be adjusted. I am sorry for the inconvenience you encountered. As our valuable Silver Member (Ibis golden for Ibis hotels), you are eligible to late check out till 5pm on Weekends (Your departure was on Monday and therefore not included). Also, this is always based on hotel’ availabilities. Our Front Desk receptionist did their very best to extend you a room upgrade (As you requested in your email) from Superior Room to Deluxe room – even if Silver Member are not eligible to it. Once again, I apologize for the inconveniences you encountered and do sincerely hope we get the opportunity to welcoming you back in the future. Although is an old hotel but it maintained quite well, nice and friendly concierge, nice and friend staff at hotel lobby bar when we enjoyed our welcome drink. Room was neat and clean but lack of decorations.

Great location with the Forbidden City within 15 mins walk and so many Malls and restaurants around. Hotel shows signs of aging. Services are good. Especially at Club Floor with great views. Cleaning staff broke my earrings accidentally - poor girl was so afraid. She did a great job cleaning though.

We had a wonderful stay for 3 nights at Novotel Peace. Overall from booking, to checking, check out everything went smoothly, no issues at all. I stayed with family (2 Adults + 2 kids) and they gave us 2 rooms interconnected as promised. The location of room was great, giving excellent views. Rooms were big, clean, daily house keeping was spot on no complaints.The breakfast was great giving many choices and food quality was fantastic.The location of Hotel is excellent, close to city centre but not in city centre you have some quietness. It's close to Subway, which was great. The highlight for me was the service, especially Tony from concierge, fantastic individual who looked after us right from our check-in. He gave us all the valuable information about travelling around (as we didn't book any tours), maps tips, information around where we can find restaurant etc he was just too good. We even booked a private car for day hire through him for visiting Great Wall and the car & driver assigned on the day was excellent, very re-assuring. I would strongly recommend this hotel over all and thanks to Novotel team for looking after us so well. Thanks Sachin

Dear Reader, Dear Hotel Manager, Although the hotel was nice and the room and furniture of good quality (as well as breakfast). I have been scamed by one of your staff employed at the front office. On my check-out (April 6th - room 1709), on the eve of my departure programmed at 6 am I kindly asked to have a taxi booked for the airport. The only lady in charge of the front office at 6am called a taxi driver who is probably a known person of hers. The cab drove me to the airport and the taximeter suddenly increased from 45 Rmb to 135 Rmb and never changed. Because I have been travelling frequently to Beijing I know that the fare cannot exceed 70 rmb. Then I called the hotel and talked to the same lady and complained. She right away called the taxi driver who told after hanging that I will to pay only 100 instead of 135 indicated on the meter. Arrived at the airport, a lady wanted to take the cab on the other way around and surprise, the taxi driver changed the meter in front of me (by unplugging cables like you do for an autoradio). Well my story is not about the taxi driver scam that you can experience anywhere in the world. The problem is that Novotel Beijing employee is involved into scamming the hotel costumers. I have learnt my lesson and will never come back to this hotel... And advise any reader to do so.... I am a le club accor member. Do you think that this type of action is encouraging the Accor branch fidelity.... Beware

I was truly shocked at the state of the airconditioning - which worked more like a heater! I guess the front desk knew about this issue as they sent a FAN to my room - apparently one of the last fans they had available. Appalling for an Accor Hotel. I was and am still shocked about this.

However, it is still too cold to blast cooler air within our building. I am very sorry about the discomfort you encountered. Hotel is in prime location. Walking distance to Tian’anmen Square-Monument and Forbidden city. Nice services by staff. Understand English language. Restaurant food is good. Being vegetarian had no food problem. Overall enjoyed our stay.

had a stay of five nights in february for the first time in the novotel peace. the hotels location is perfect near forbidden city. a subway-station is nearby (about ten minutes by feet). my room (a corner room in 17th floor) was very spacious and furnished conveniently. breakfast and dinner in the executive lounge was very rich and tasty. the service staff was very friendly and always ready to help (would like to send special greets to anna and alica). i am sure that i will have further stays in the future in this hotel.
