We stayed in a family room with a double and single bed. The room was a reasonable size for a hotel in Paris and it was clean. The hotel is located very close to the Metro and restaurants. The Eurostar was a 10min walk from the hotel. The continental breakfast was good and the lady at the breakfast room was extremely friendly and always talked to our son. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

Stayed 6 nights, first night greeted by a charming French man so helpful and easy to communicate with. The only one of the many reception staff. The rest didn’t give you the time of day. Beds comfortable, rooms small for a long stay but very comfortable. Location so close to Gare de l’Est station ease of access to the rail system with a great array of buses at the front door also. Neat, clean, great location, many cafe so close, comfortable. Ok for singles but tight fit for couples.

I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the Gare de l'Est. The room was small as was the ensuite, but both were clean. The bed was comfortable and I felt safe in the hotel. The young staff were friendly and the lady serving breakfast was very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was varied and plentiful.

Good location and close to shops, stalls, cafes and restaurants. The hotel itself could be better. On the Sunday we were told that breakfast was till 11am, on Monday we missed breakfast as it it only till 11am on weekend, on weekday it is till 10am, I saw another family have the same problem... Not great. But when we did get breakfast on the second day it was good, very filling and enjoyable. The rooms are OK and have air conditioning but the bedside lights were either broken or missing bulbs which was annoying. There is no hair dryer or kettle. Would stay again.

I did not expect the bad experience I would have at the ibis Styles Paris Gare de l'Est Magenta. The worst of the problems was the bathroom in the room we were given (406) had the toilet in a space next to a column that simply made it impossible for an adult to use it, especially if you are not extremely thin. Definitely the worst hotel bathroom I've ever seen in my life. I asked two attendants for a room change due to this problem and was denied. I sent an email 3 days before my check-out (I stayed for 5 nights) and was just ignored. We also identified a leak from the shower that flooded part of the room, it was reported in the email and nothing was done. Breakfast: poor, with few options for fruit and sweets, in two days the pain au chocolat ran out and was not replenished. Some receptionists were not friendly, especially one who made a face when we just said "good night". I've been to other hotels and buildings in Paris and I know the limitations of space, but what has been done to this hotel is something rather bad and causes a bad experience. Elevator, corridors and bathroom especially. Anyway, the only good thing is the location, close to the stations. I do not recommend the hotel to anyone. It will detract from your experience in Paris, just as it detracted from mine.
