Great except for the rooms.

This resort is a conundrum since if I could rate it 3.5, I would. The location and views are truly 5 stars, as are the 3 private beaches, pool and Scorpio dive center. Service is fantastic, and I would like to point out that a sports massage from Riyab at the Lotus Spa and dinner at the Indian restaurant are not to be missed. The Indian meal would rival anything I could get in New York City and was the best meal we had while in Sharm. However, the rooms themselves are not up to Movenpick standards. The bathrooms offer no amenities besides body wash, hand wash, hand lotion, one single hand towel and two regular towels. Granted, the regular towels are extra large but even a 3 star hotel would provide washcloths, hair conditioner or amenities kits. I could understand if one was missing, or even possibly two, but all three? Mind boggling. In addition, we were given a room close to the pool but with two twin beds instead of a king. The breakfast buffet was decent, but two out of three mornings there were no spoons, even if you asked for them. How can you eat cereal or yogurt with a fork? The juices came out of a box, which is also unusual for a 4 or 5 star hotel, and on our last day there was about a 20 minute stretch when the buffet ran out of coffee. Also, if you choose to eat on the patio, be prepared to be surrounded by aggressive crows who will steal things off your plate the moment you get up for seconds. The liquor selection was disappointing, as nothing was top shelf. We stuck to drinking Sakkara Gold beers, and the bartender was great.

We ( family with three children) had an amazing time at the hotel. The rooms we stayed in were newly renovated and very clean. We loved the snorkeling off beach no. 1. It was fantastic with a big variety of colourful fish and corals. The beaches were nice. The food was really good, even for vegetarians. The only downside were mosquitos in the room. The staff was friendly and professional. We would love to visit again!

Thank u movempick for an impecable stay, we stayed from the 27th of September to the second of October, first they know about my bd from the ID info & they surprised me with a thoughtful cake & lovely decorations, our rooms were taken a very good care by Mr. Mousa. The food was tasty & had many varieties, under the very attentive care of Executive chef Mohamed Zaki & chef Fathallh who had been so welcoming & always smiling. Captain Tarek provided a heartfelt service. The animation team were really creative & fun to be around, the team was led by Mr. Alaa el deen. Lovely stay & unforgettable memory.

Our overall experience at the hotel was good, but we did have some issues the way they handle the 'All Inclusive Package' - wine is only served in restaurant and Lobby Bar, you have to pay for dinks in the Horizon bar, pay for local bottled beer and pay addititional charge to eat in the Rangoli restaurant - the only time I have had to pay supplement in an all inclusive restaurant is when it involves expensive seafood. I have raised these issues with the hotel, but not sure anything will change. The food in the main restaurant was very nice, I don't eat meat and I had no problem finding something to suit me. Our room was one of the older ones, and was tired but clean. The staff are amazing, they are so polite and helpful - nothing is too much trouble - I have provided the hotel with their names, and request that they pass on our gratitude to them all. We would definitely stay at this hotel again, and hopefully by then the management might re-think about charging people for drinks in the Horizon bar!
