Excellent Hotel and Service

Highly impressed with our stay at this hotel. The welcome package including Champagne, fruit basket and sweets was greatly appreciated. Excellent service and great facilities including snorkeling and swimming. Very clean rooms and well kept grounds. The overwater bungalow was very upmarket and exceeded our expections. Will definitely stay there again.

We were traveling around the Society Islands on our private yacht and stayed and dined at some wonderful resorts along the way. We stayed at this hotel as it was the last night and relatively close to the PPT airport. We arrived late afternoon and tried to get a snack/drink at the bar pool side, but after we ordered one drink and sandwich, they said no more as they were now closed and we had to go inside (it was still warm and light out). the property was nice, but they had no idea about their accommodations - they made us walk 2 buildings past our building, up two flights of stairs to our room because the person directing us did not know there was an elevator in the building adjacent to ours that had an elevator that went all the way to the 5th floor. The dinner was memorable only in that the salad was so dressed it was hardly edible which caused the waitress to ask "it no good' to which we replied its OK but the burger was better. Come on, we had reserved a taxi for 5:30 am and there was one waiting at the curb but we were told not ours. They ran and got another group but that group climbed out and said it was not their taxi as they were not going to the airport. After 15 min of waiting, the bell person finally offered us the same taxi. The property seemed very dated and tired with service poor to say the least.compared to all of the other Tahitian resorts we visited . We do note that this might be an old SPG property that was neglected (old SPG room signs) and needs a LOT of work. Will stay closer to the airport next time. Maururru.

Very calm and nice place to rest and stay. Rooms are clean and beds are so comfortable. Rates are affordable for all the services provided (breakfast brunch on Sunday included in one night reservation)

We stayed in an over water bungalow that was magnificent. The resort sits in a commercial/ residential zone so shops are relatively close as are domestic residences. The beach is nice and the lagoon was good for snorkelling and swimming. Saw lots of fish including black tipped reef shark. The main hotel itself looks tired but the gardens are nice with some magnificent trees. The food at the bistro and breakfast left a lot to be desired as did the service which was exceedingly slow and unresponsive. On night 1 we went to the bbq bistro and my food was excellent but my wife's M/W steak was raw. On night 2 my fish (same as night 1) was raw inside and my wife's well done hamburger moo'ed so consistency was a big issue. Drinks would sit on the bar waiting for waiters for up to 15 minutes while they fluffed about doing not much. Took 15 minutes for maitre de to actually come to our table to discuss food standards and he comped us the food which was good but would have preferred good food. Go into town for food would be my recommendation. The concierge and front of office and baggage staff were excellent, courteous and very helpful and went out of their way to assist travellers.
Should not bear the Sofitel Brand name- sadly

Sofitel stands for exclusive, high end service excellence and outstanding property maintenance, both missing here. The rooms are dated, the cleanliness below average . We had to remind them 2 days in a row that the room was occupied by 2 adults, hence needing two set of towels etc. ALL club card... well no welcome drink, no difference from any other except when mentioned in the restaurant, we got the your cheap ‘look’. Food was ok, nothing to write home about. Sofitel standard - no way. Sorry.
